Sarah Temple hopes to find a bit of peace and quiet when she leaves her abusive boyfriend, but instead she finds a world of horror. It’s bad enough that a sadistic serial killer and another maniac are both trying to murder her, but what’s worse is the mysterious Solitary One who controls both of them, a malevolent entity that the serial killer describes as a living darkness, a man and yet not a man, something that’s alive and yet not alive, something that wants to appall the world.
Trying to flee from the two killers, Sarah finds herself running deeper and deeper into a deadly supernatural trap, a place where people are buried alive, where ghastly apparitions mutter in the dark, where demented killers prowl, where a crumbling haunted house can drive its victims mad with terror, and where something buried for a very long time may walk again.
I'm offering ten copies of The Bad Box for review in either MOBI (for Kindle) or EPUB (for Nook and other readers). If you're interested in reading and reviewing it, please let me know in this thread or by sending a message. I would be grateful for reviews at Amazon, B&N, and Goodreads. When posting a review on Amazon, please state something like this, "I received this book from the author for an honest review."
Note: I'll be out of town 12-24 through 12-27, and my Internet access may be limited, but if I'm unable to send copies during those days I'll send them as soon as I get home!
If you're not sure whether you'd rather read The House of Worms or The Bad Box, let me briefly tell you how they differ. Though they're both supernatural horror novels, they are very different in tone, pace, and style. The House of Worms has a more complex plot, more characters, more action, and certainly a wilder climax. The Bad Box is a quieter novel with a slower pace and a more sober tone. That may not sound as interesting (and I admit a preference for The House of Worms), but I think for some readers a quieter tone can feel creepier.
