This book is about the Robertsons family tree and how each and every family member came to be what they are today. Willie, husband of Korie and son of Phil, and the CEO of Duck Commander, was born in Bernice, Louisiana to Kay and Phil Robertson. At birth, Willie was greeted by his mother and doctors, and not Phil. Phil had 4 kids and only saw 1 being born (Jeb). Willie grew up with 2 older and 1 younger brother, and they did everything together, even hunting with Phil. Phil's whole life revolved around hunting. Willie was destine to be just like Phil, until he attended a Christian Youth Camp and met Korie. She was a city girl, or Yuppie as the Robertsons would say. Kories dad, or Papaw, was very similar to Phil, and Papaw met his wife at that same camp Korie was at with Willie. They got married after college and had John Luke and Sadie. Willie took over Phil's small Duck Commander business and it sky rocketed in profits. New workers were added and A&E requested a TV show. They are now just a big family that has built a very famous dynasty. I found this book amazingly interesting because some of the facts that i never would have known if it weren't for this book. Phil was actually the starting QB for LSU, until he quit the team because he'd rather be hunting. Terry Bradshaw was his back up QB. This book really demonstrates the American dream, something you can't do in many other countries. The American dream is making a living on doing what you love, and that is exactly what the Robertsons have done. I enjoyed this book very much and am actually going to watch the show right now!
