10/5 stars!!!

I totally agree! Tris told herself she was "selfish" but she wasn't...She was born to be selfless and she died being selfless. <3

I didn't go onto any fansites this site included nor did I look at Twitter until I finished reading it. Spoilers make me mad. :D If I happen to read one I only have myself to blame. After all not many people uphold the rules of the a spoiler free zone on the net.

I agree, I always had to search for which POV it was. Although sometimes you could tell by the dialogue.Tobias Point of view in the end was very dramatic. But I think it was necessary for Veronica to put it in his Point of view. I loved this book, it was amazing.

Exciting but sad at the end. I cried a lot* sob, sob*

I wanted to cry but I finished it in school. It took all I had not to cry.

But the thing is that it's not when David actually shot tris that I cried. I mean, I was kinda expecting that either tris or tobias would die as soon as Veronica Roth announced the 2 POV's. Tris dying was just another part of the book. What really make me bawl my eyes out was when Cara told Tobias that tris died, and his reaction after that. And when Tobias was thinking at the funeral that if he squeezed tris's hands hard enough, she would wake up. And how Tobias explained his grief for Tris in the following chapters. It was torture to read!
Here are my thoughts on the ending of allegiant:
The reason I am not pissed about her death like some other people is because her death added a lot to the story. It was a significant and meaningful death. It was a powerful conclusion to the series.
To me, the first part of Divergent was just an introduction to the whole series. Everything that happened from chapters 1 through 34 in Divergent was just the beginning. It was a setting up of the plot. And then the actual start of the series was in chapter 35, when both of Tris' parents died. After their death, Tris couldn't handle it anymore. She wanted to die like her parents did. She wanted to die selflessly and like the Abnegation. From there, Tris started to risk her life more and more. She didn't really care about her life. She got into many near-death situations. (In insurgent, Tobias even gave tris an ultimatum!) Life lost its meaning to tris. And then, she found the perfect opportunity to die. When Jeanine announced that people would die every 2 days, and it wouldn't stop until a divergent went to Jeanine, tris volunteered. She new she would be executed and she new she would die. But she lied to Christina and betrayed Tobias' promise and volunteered herself. Again, she wanted to die the way her parents did. But when execution day finally came, she realized she didn't want to die. Lying on the execution table, a second before she was about to be executed, she screamed in her head "I AM NOT DONE YET! I DONT WANT TO DIE!" She realized her life's worth. And, well, Peter, of all people, saved her. My only reaction to that is "LOL". She found out that Caleb had betrayed her. Then all these things happened in the middle. Now let's move to the Allegiant ending. Caleb felt really guilty for what he did to tris. He couldn't handle it. The only way he thought he could fix it was sacrificing himself. He would go to the Weapons Lab and save the city from the GP's. Things were going as planned. When it was time for Caleb to go (and die) Tris went with Caleb to walk him there. Then things started to go wrong. A person had caught them and was chasing after them. Tris made a quick decision. She realized that if Caleb went in there, he would never come back and die. But since Tris was divergent, there was a chance she would survive the death serum. She also realized that she loved her brother. Although Caleb had done many bad things to her, Caleb was very sorry for this and Tris just couldn't stay angry at him. Determined to survive, Tris went in instead of Caleb. And guess what? She survived the death serum! Yay! But when she got into the place, David was there. And he shot Tris. But right before she died, Tris released the gas she needed to and accomplished the task. After she died, her mother came out and tris asked her "Am I done yet?"
Her death was a necessary ending to Veronica Roth's trilogy. It showed that Tris finally knew what sacrifice was, and she learned the meaning of life. It all started when tris' parents died, and it ended when she herself died. Although this ending made me cry a lot, it was an absolutely amazing and creative ending. This is the BEST possible ending that Veronica Roth could have ever dreamed up. My rating for this book is 5 stars!
