Judy (judyjdr) Ok, so I'm a huge Nora fan, and there aren't many above titles that I haven't read. I was hooked after the Inn Boonsborough Trilogy. I have even read them over a few times. One of my fave series is the McGregors I've read all those and Loved them all. She's so clever at creating characters we can identify with. I feel like I'm almost just another one. I wasn't as impressed with The Dark Witch tho, I don't know if I was in a mood but I haven't yet purchased the next instalment, so I guess that's on my read list. And was just given a hard copy of Midnight Bayou,so I'm looking forward to discussing it.

Tania | 215 comments Winter Dreams is one of her 2 books put in one, its not part of a trilogy. Both had winter stories. It was on top of the pile of books of hers that are to be read so I went with it.

Just finished Robert & Cybil The Winning Hand\The Perfect Neighbor by Nora Roberts which is part of a series. I have one more in the set to read The MacGregor Grooms by Nora Roberts which I will start this week.

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1934 comments Welcome Judy!

I am new to Nora Roberts, but have read a lot of her newer books. I love the Dark Witch trilogy, and have read all 3. But I'm not familiar with her other books that are similar to it - which seems to be the main complaint.

Gea - so glad that her books have been translated into Slovenian. My first series by NR was Vision in White.

I have only read the first one in the Inn series but I plan on reading the other two soon.

Judy (judyjdr) Thanks Leslie, I loved the Bride Quartet. It just gets better and better with each book. When you're ready to discuss, I'm all yours.

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1934 comments Just finished Born in Fire (Born In Trilogy, #1) by Nora Roberts and loved it!! I can't wait to read the other two books in the trilogy.

Calila | 2746 comments I LOVE Born In Fire. I think that was my gateway NR book. I bought the three book combo edition because it had a claddagh ring on the cover.

Tania | 215 comments Finished The MacGregor Grooms by Nora Roberts . Think I am going to have to do a book count to see if I am on line to do 12 of her books this year as I have been kind of random in choosing her books.

message 158: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) I started out so well with this challenge but seem to have faltered along the way. I've read 5 out of my planned 12. Hopefully I'll fit in a few more by the end of the year.

Calila | 2746 comments Just read Whiskey Beach, I really liked most of it. I did like Eli way more than Abra. I think more like he does so that was expected. I found her pushy and she over-stepped way too much. I don't care how much she loves his grandmother, and how much the grandmother loves her, she still didn't know ELI at the start to do the thing she does or say the things she says. Bleh. She's not totally dislikable though. It's just that one thing.

The mystery is okay. Wasn't the best but wasn't the worst.

message 160: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) I also wasn't that fond of Abra - she was very pushy.

Calila | 2746 comments Heads up everyone - Inn Boonsboro boxed set - The Inn Boonsboro Trilogy is only $4.99 at Kindle right now! THIS IS A LEGIT STEAL. Her books are crazy expensive and this is for THREE. I wish I hadn't already bought/read this series. Kindle link - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASI...

Also Dark Witchis only 2.99. - Kindle link - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B...

That's four NR books for less than $10....which normally would be in the about $25-30 range?

message 162: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1934 comments I haven't been getting notifications about this thread. Sorry!

Thanks for the heads up, Calila! Good to know. I just read the second one in the Inn Boonsboro series and enjoyed it. Not my favorite, but good.

Tania | 215 comments Has anyone done a list of which books have been the most popular in this challenge?

I just did a quick check by viewing the "Books mentioned in this topic" link up on the right side of the screen. Here are the stats I found on the books most frequently mentioned, keeping in mind that the mentions does not necessarily equal popularity. Also, this only includes books that are actually linked using the "add book/author" option. Just typing a title will not show in the record:

**Seven Times:
Shadow Spell
Dark Witch
The Witness

**Six Times:
The Next Always (plus, the entire Boonsboro Inn series was mentioned once as a whole)

**Five Times:
The Collector
Angels Fall

**Four Times:
Whiskey Beach
Sea Swept

Of her Silhouette series, here are the family name rankings/mentions:

**Stanislaskis - 10 times
**MacKades - 6 times
**MacGregors - 3 times

Judy (judyjdr) The Inn Boonsborough Trilogy is very good buying for $4.99
Go get it now if you haven't already.
This was my first Nora Roberts book and absolutely beautiful reading.
I have bought everything I could get my hands on after reading Nora's work.
It's sweet, there's a little suspense and a whole lot of happy ever afters.
You can't go wrong with this trilogy, I loved it.

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1934 comments Thanks for doing that Teresa! I had no idea you could.

I have Sea Swept (Chesapeake Bay Saga, #1) by Nora Roberts up next to read. Have heard really good things about this series.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 86 comments I loved the first three in the Chesapeake Bay series. I think I liked the 4th one - Seth's story - well enough but I felt kind of weird reading about this child I'd come to love as a child, grown up and romancing a woman.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 86 comments I am going to start Blood Brothers (Sign of Seven, #1) by Nora Roberts soon. I have to get that one from the library but I have the two follow-ups. Been in a Nora mood lately and I have not read this trilogy, plus it feels like it might fit the season.

message 171: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) I loved that trilogy, Teresa. It's like Stephen King with romance :0)

Calila | 2746 comments Read Blood Magick, great finish to the series. It still fits her formula, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I really loved Fin, and struggled with Branna. I liked her, but there is a difference between Strong and Stubborn. But it wasn't that big of a deal. NR still hits my emotions.

Calila | 2746 comments Shadow Spell, book 2 of O'Dwyer Trilogy $2.50 amzn.to/199LOX8.

Blood Magick Book 3 is also $2.50: amzn.to/1sjo0Pb

message 174: by Calila (new)

Calila | 2746 comments The Collector is only 3.75 for kindle right now!

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1934 comments I'm reading Blood Magick (The Cousins O'Dwyer Trilogy, #3) by Nora Roberts right now and enjoying it. I completely agree with your assessment - love Fin as well and Branna irritates the crap out of me. She's so fussy and grumpy.
