You're kidding, but that might be dead on. LOL Plus it's easy to get lost in the pretty people and sets.

And I felt like there was a bit of bait and switch. The three main characters were marketed initially as if they were somewhat equal, but in fact as you watch you realize that the show really only interested in Jo's (the white female) POV. She gets the sympathy edit and the show feels like it is forcing you to identify with her.
I followed some boards on it after I stopped watching and was glad I did because people began to talk about how more marginalized they felt Lacey's character had become and how they felt she was being disrespected in the writing.
The character has some major fans who are vocal in their upset in the direction the show has gone in re: her character. They got a new showrunner for the back half of the season so maybe it will get better/.

Can't say that I've seen the show yet, but thanks to those of you who have seen it and made comments here. I also can't say I'm surprised by the things you've said, Tina.
