Not so great books....

I can't think of anything off the top of my head that I didn't like this year, but has anyone read Angry Housewives eating Bon Bons? My friend said her mom read it and liked it, but I've been reading reviews and it hasn't done very well...maybe it was written for an older generation? I've tried a few times to read it and haven't been sucked in yet. I'm going to try again soon and see if I like it. Just wondering if anyone has read it. :)

I actually read that a LONG time ago, like close to 10 years ago. Can't really remember much from it. But I gave it 4 stars, so I must've liked it.....either that or when I rated it, it had been so long since I'd read it so I wasn't sure and gave it 4 stars to be nice. LOL

I used to do that, but since I didn't finish the book, I didn't feel like I should've been able to mark it as read. GR needs to add that as an option - Tried to Read, But Couldn't. LOL
I'll steer clear of Hattie. Thanks!

Exactly! I loved the first two. I'm not understanding why I don't like this one. Makes me sad.

I've never read anything by him, what genre does he write?

I think he is chick lit.

Oh, ok. I'll have to check him out. Have you read anything else by him that you did like?

First one - has anyone else read Mad About the Boy by Helen Fielding? I am having the worst time trying to get through this book! I wanted to love it as I loved the previous two Bridget Jones books, but.....I don't know what's happened. Is it becuase Bridget is a single mom in her 50s? Really shouldn't be too hard for me to relate to other than the age difference, but that usually doesn't matter. All the same players are still there - Tom, Jeremy & Magda, Una & Bridget's mother (though, the husbands have passed), Jude....although Shazzer is missing and that hasn't really been explained. Or maybe I just forgot. Even perverted Daniel Cleaver is still present. Mark being gone is a huge hole, but that's the reason for the story I guess. I don't know though, just not digging it really, at all.
