Hi guys hoping someone can help as starting to go nuts!!

Looking for a YA book late 80's early 90's. There were 2 boys & a girl, & I think just the boys started playing a computer game that then became real & all 3 had to finish the game in real life before it would end. One of the boys started becoming a shady character in the game. The kids would be out doing something & then all of a sudden they'd 'step into' the game & had to play a level etc until they got to a point where they'd go back into reality again.
