okay I barely remember what happens in this book so I can only give scant details. I'd probably know it on sight so if you can find a link to it or a photo of the cover at least, please post it.

Most of what I remember involves a woman, a house, and a group of kids. Either they lived there or she lived there and they came to play inside. I think it was some sort of a crazy house with either a patchwork floor/wall or mattresses as the floor/walls. May have even been mattresses outside. They apparently had a lot of fun in this house or with this woman. Think part of it took place at night too.

One thing I remember really well is that it had a bright pink throughout. Not like a magenta, but just pink and really stood out.

I read this back in the 90s as a kid so I believe it was published around then. Maybe late 80s to early-mid 90s.

This has been bothering me for weeks and I've searched Amazon and to the best of my ability.

I hope you can help me find this. Sorry the details are so scant.

Could be for ages 3-8 maybe up to age 10

Just took a look at the book covers and then a look inside thanks to Amazon

Unfortunately, it's not. The pictures were a full page with only a couple sentences each, much like The Hungry Caterpillar, but more than 1 sentence.

But...perhaps it's Miss Tizzy?

Miss Tizzy wears a purple hat with a white flower in it. She lives in a pink house with an overgrown garden. Parents may think her peculiar, but the children love her.

Together, Miss Tizzy and the children bake cookies, make pictures for people who have stopped smiling, play dress-up, put on puppet shows and parades, and strech out on bright quilts in Miss Tizzy's backyard for an evening of singing songs about the moon.

Might stop in there before heading home from work to see if they'll let me go around in the children's section looking for it.

The Patchwork Lady , maybe?
