nothing in that represents life, flora or anything to do with the empress. i think they are two cards that only share titles (and even that is made different by gender). other than that nothing is common. so comparingly, death would be a better match to evie's "life or emperess" than the emperor himself.

Mia I heard a completely different description of the emperor, i heard like..father figure, protector etc....and heard Empress was mother figure bla bla but i know hardly anything about this stuff so i dont know.

So, we have Evie, The Empress.
Then Jackson, the human(view spoiler)[ which may or may not be true but for this discussion he will be called human. Despite other theories (hide spoiler)]
Then Aric, Death.
Aric and Jackson both have a hold on Evie's heart and she sorta loves them both. But this where i get the confused. The Emperor
I get the whole Death and Life thing. One can't live without the other, blah blah blah. And Jackson just because Evie wants to be normal, blah blah blah. But wouldn't it make sense for the Empress to be with the Emperor?
Throughout the whole series so far, we only hear about the Emperor. Heck, we don't even know if he's dead or alive. So, tell me your theory on the Emperor because my curiosity is killing me. X_X Please help.
