Discuss the book here!

The question to think about is:

'Can everything you love be washed away?'

Is anyone you love truly ever gone? Explain with the reference to the book.

Feel free to extend the discussion beyond the questions and simply talk about the book as well :D

L | 1252 comments Ever since I found out that Lauren Kate was writing a new book I was just so excited! I read her “Fallen” series, including the latest book ‘Fallen in Love’ and also ‘The betrayal of Natalie Hargrove’ and loved them all! What caught my eye instantly was the beautiful cover of Teardrop and how creative it was – certainly striking and a great YA cover. I have only just begun reading but I am loving it already, with the characters {as usual} being utterly brilliant and memorable!

Your question Can everything you love be washed away? is an interesting one! If you love someone they can leave you, physically, but that love {that feeling deep inside of you} never truly leaves. Whether it is a relative who has died or a boyfriend/ girlfriend etc. who has left/ broken up with you, the love you feel for that person remains still forever buried deep within, nestled in a corner of your heart. I speak with sincerity on a personal level who has lost someone whom I loved and yet they remain a part of me still, hidden within a corner of my heart…for all time even when life carries on and you rally and perhaps love again. Older relatives have died, friends have died and people close to me and yet I can remember them as though it was only yesterday that we were together.

Famous quote ~

“Sirius Black: It's cruel that I got to spend so much time with James and Lily, and you so little. But know this; the ones that love us never really leave us. And you can always find them in here.
[Puts his hand to Harry's heart]”

- This is when Sirius Black talks to Harry, at the end of Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban film 3.

I will continue reading the book and then see how Lauren Kate’s characters relate to this quote {above}! It is a brilliant book and I am so pleased to have the chance to read it.

'Can everything you love be washed away?'

No? I mean you still remember them and you still have them in your heart so I guess they never really leave?

I mean despite the fact that Diana was dead, that didn't stop Eureka from remembering her mother and in a way, she sort of... welll... I don't know how to word this properly so it'll probably make no sense... anyway.
