I've just started reading Broken Birdie Chirpin and am already enjoying it a lot. When I was in high school, I was into 60s British and American bands (the Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who, etc.). I am really connecting with the story.

Question... is this book pure fictional or does it have some personal elements to the story?

Adam | 12 comments Thank you for your question! The novel definitely combines elements of both. There isn't a single character that is definitively me, but I see a part of myself in each of them...and that includes both their positive and negative traits. In other words, if you mashed the main characters together you'd have a version of me.

The plot itself is mostly fiction, but I did have a rock n' roll fantasy of my own for many years growing up. It mostly came from my love of bands like The Kinks, The Beatles, and T-Rex. It truly pleased me to see my characters go places that I never did.

Finally, the Becky storyline is loosely based on a relationship I had in college.

Anyway, I hope you continue to enjoy the book!

So wonderfully interesting Adam. I still think that music will never be as good as it was back then.

I am enjoying and will post a review soon!
