Wow! What'd you get?"
Congratulations and yes, please tell us what you won!!!

Congrats! That's a good score.

The second time I hit something on my mouse which made everything go insane, and when I hit the back button the review disappeared 'cause it was in that stupid pop-up box, or something.
I have no idea what happened the first time, though.

...that I am a chump, lol. I saw a free book that had an interesting title and I grabbed it. Dead Radiance
So I grabbed it (I got the smashwords copy, not the kindle) and then I actually looked at it.
Evolved Publishing brings you a YA Paranormal Fantasy/Romance, "Dead Radiance (a Valkyrie Novel – Book 1)," by T.G. Ayer. It features Norse mythology and Valkyries.
I'm not a big fan of YA Romance, period. No matter the rest of the tropes involved. YA + romance usually equals love triangle. I hate love triangles.
I also hate teenage angst. I made myself sick during my teenage years, lol. No need to let someone else make me sick, too.

The last one I read was Valkyrie Rising. It's also a YA Paranormal Romance. I liked the cover and well, I thought Valkyries were supposed to be badass...but, these were more like suped up White Chicks. The love triangle was virtually non-existent, however the "heroine's" (I use that term loosely with this book) bosom would heave every time a certain boy got near her. It was really pathetic. lol

*facepalm*
I'm disgusted. But not surprised. It seems that taking the badass chick and making her a fainting lady is the new thing of the day. *gag*
There's an erotica I read that had Valkyries in it but it was very tongue-in-cheek. The "old school" Valkyries were badasses who would rip out your spine. The "new" Valkyries were Playboy Bunnies and were only Valkyries because Odin liked big boobs.

What I've been doing is just saving books that I love the cover while forgoing reading them, lol. I just like the picture.

O_O
Ok, so it wasn't the Space Junque cover I liked. It was the followup in the series: Spiderwork

But I never read Spiderwork cause I pretty much hated Space Junque.
I bought Space Junque because my OCD told me so.

See, my taste isn't as bad as it looked when talking about Space Junque.

The address on a wedding invitation should be handwritten; printed labels are not appropriate.
Depending on your handwriting and the level of formality of your wedding, you may want to have your envelopes inscribed by a professional calligrapher.
When a couple uses the appropriate honorific and writes out an address in the correct way, it shows they've put thought into it. And when your guests receive your invitation, expertly assembled and addressed, there will be no doubt that you have done just that.
Spell out all words in an address on your envelopes. Rather than "St.," "P.O. Box," and "Apt.," use "Street," "Post Office Box," and "Apartment." This applies to city and state names as well; instead of abbreviations, write "Saint Paul, Minnesota" and "Washington, District of Columbia." House numbers smaller than 20 should also be spelled out.
The preferred place for printing the return address is on the envelope's back flap. Traditional etiquette called for blind embossing, or colorless raised lettering, for wedding invitations; the idea behind this was that guests would get their first glimpse of the fancy engraving on the invitation itself.
Sending out an invitation in two envelopes ensures that each guest will receive a pristine envelope, even if the outer one has been torn or soiled in the mail.

Ummmm, yeah. I read that, too.
And I say, "Bullshit!"
I printed addresses directly on the envelope. Done and done. Used a pretty font and called it a day. Unless you are inviting 20 people or less...I wouldn't suggest it. Ugh.

You're trusting a convicted felon for wedding advice. :)

Today I learned (or remembered) why I don't want to curate any of the listopias.
Just spent about 30 mins cleaning up this list I created: Best Fantasy Books with Strong Women Characters
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/2...
I just cleaned out the author added books (people adding every damn book they wrote) and then added some additional rules to keep it down.
Also thinking about removing the damn science fiction because the freaking list says FANTASY.
*irritated*
I'm sure I missed something...(read: a lot).

That my MIL finally published her book! :)

(This has my name in it to..LOL..but not as a main character.)
I'm so happy for her!
Not sure if I should review it though, seeing as I'm family.

Sticky question: to review or not to review? I have definitive no answer. :)
But I have some questions: Can you give an honest and fair review without holding back? Are there more good things to say than bad? Can you give it a 4 or 3 without ruining your relationship? If yes to all three questions, I'd say go ahead.
On the other hand, if you don't review it, will she think you don't like it?
I know. Not helpful. But these are the questions that go through my mind.

I would love to go there :)

Seriously - I have no clue how I've never heard of this place... I'm definitely going. :)
