Major Deities

Ra: The king of the gods. The great Sun god. Ra sails his sun boat across the heavens each day and at night, passes through the underworld becoming rejuvenated for the next day. The enemy of Apophis.

Geb: The Earth god. His very body is the surface of the Earth. He is married to Nut, but barred from ever being with her.

Nut: The Sky goddess. She is often represented with a blue body covered with the cosmos. She is married to Geb and is the mother of Osiris, Isis, Set, and Nephthys.

Osiris: The King of the Underworld. He was the successor to Ra as King of the gods until he was tricked by Set, who killed him. He was resurrected by his wife Isis, but couldn't come back fully, so he became the king of the dead. His son is Horus.

Isis: The goddess of Motherhood, Fertility, and Magic. She is married to her brother Osiris and is the mother of Horus.

Set: The god of Storms, the Desert, and Chaos. Set was the usurper who killed Osiris. He battled with Horus for Kingship. He is also married to his sister Nephthys. Set is Ra's chief fighter and defends the Sun Boat from Apophis on it's nightly journey through the underworld.

Nephthys: The goddess of Death and Lamentations. Helped her sister Isis search Egypt for the pieces of Osiris to bring him back to life. She is married to Set and Mother of Anubis.

Horus: The god of War, Skies, and Protection. He is the son of Isis and Osiris. He fought Set for the throne and defeated him.

Apophis: The Enemy of Ra and the Epitome of Chaos. Apophis has one desire, to swallow the sun and plunge the world back into the darkness of chaos. He is the true face of evil.

Bastet (Bast): The Cat goddess. Daughter of Ra, and slayer of Apophis. One of the defenders of Ra on his nightly journey.

Ma'at: The goddess of Truth and Justice. Another daughter of Ra. The keeper of all things orderly, and opposite of Apophis.

Thoth: The god of Wisdom, Knowledge, and Hieroglyphs. Keeper of order along with Ma'at, and credited with the invention of Science.

Khons: The Moon God.

Minor Deities

Anubis: The god of Mummification and Protecting the Dead.

Ammit: The Devourer of Hearts. Ammit is a demon goddess with the back half of a hippopotamus, the front half of a lion, and the head of a crocodile. If you died and made it to the hall of judgement, Anubis would weigh your heart on the scales of Ma'at against the Feather of Truth. If your heart was to heavy with sins, Ammit would eat your heart, and your soul would die.

Bes: The Dwarf god. Bes scares away evil and misfortune.

Edjo: The Cobra goddess.

Hapi: The Nile god.

Hathor: The Cow goddess of love, beauty, motherhood, and cows. Also the alter-ego of Sekhmet.

Hatmehyt: The Fish goddess.

Hedetet: The Scorpion goddess.

Ipet: The Hippopotamus god.

Ptah: The god of Craftsmen, the Arts, and Fertility. Legend states that Ptah created the soul of man, or ka (one of the five parts of the soul, along with the ba, the ib, the ren, and the sheut), just by speaking. He is married to Sekhmet.

Sobek: The god of Crocodiles, the Nile, and War.

Sekhmet: The goddess of Fire, War, Disease, Medicine and Healing. Many magicians who choose to follow her path are adept at healing magic to control her powers. She is married to Ptah.

Taweret: The goddess of Childbirth.

Neith: The Goddess of Hunting, Weaving, and Wisdom. Mother of Sobek.
