Favorite male character, but not HP, any Weasley, no Professors, Hagrid, or fantastic creatures!

For me? It's gotta be Dudley Dursley, just the sheer depth of character and his heartwrenching backstory . . . how can I resist?

"Professor R. J. Lupin."
Definetly him!

Neville is without doubt my favourite MALE character. (Note that I am abiding by the discussion topic and refraining from chatting happily about how great Luna is. I am showing great self-restraint.) He's such a brave, strong character. I love reading about his beautiful journey from awkward boy to defender of Hogwarts. I love how he originally looked up to Harry, but grew as a character and became more of his own person. Neville, I love you so much, you are great!!!

P.S. Do I get a second place? Cause that would be Sirius. And I loved the powerful way Draco was drawn as a character, despite his being a... [thinking of polite way to put this]... less-than-nice person.

Sirius! Although Kingsley and Moody are great too (I'm counting Moody because he never actually got to be a professor).

For me it would be The Weasley Twins because of their humor, i wish they were rule people (not counting actors) so I could meet them!

SPOILER*

FRED DIED!! WAHHHHHHHHH!!! I'm still depressed and when I'm 70 when someone ask, "After all this time? I would answer ALWAYS (quote fro deathly hallows)

Also LUNA LOVRGOOD! She is my rolemodel! Being yourself is the best person you can be and she really does teach you that! plus she is very loyal and talented.

If I can't choose Fred and Gorge, then it's Neville

Snape. Still hoping we'll get married tbh lol

It's either Oliver Wood or Neville Longbottom :)

SIRIUS!!!!!! HE IS AWESOME! (chorus of yeahs in background)

Remus for sure. Remus has such a deep personality and he's been through so much in his life it was heartbreaking to read it on Pottermore. And he's helped Harry a Lot in the books. He lost everyone he cared about and then died himself just after his son was born... Now excuse me while I go bawl my eyes out.

Oh and Fred and George...seriously they are amazing xD And Sirius <3

Sirius!!!!

I love that so many people have said Neville. He has always been my favourite character. I said right from the start that there were big things in store for him and everybody laughed. In his bravest and most defining moment I remember screaming "I KNEW IT!!!!" at the top of my lungs but then realised the only person in the house to hear me knew nothing about HP and the people in my life who did weren't up to that spot in the final book yet so I had to wait 12 hours or so before being allowed to rub it in.

I met Matthew Lewis at a fan convention just after HBP was released and he was a lovely, sweet, charming kid. He is now a major hottie!

Even though the category forbids Professors, I will also have to say Snape. I believe that he is arguably the most well written literary character of all time. He is the most human, most flawed and most perfect character I have ever read.

Sticking to your specifications, it has to be Sirius Black.

professor mcgonagall,,the old hag is craaaazy as hell!!

Well Lupin and Snape were professors so... Neville or Sirius. And i would've said Draco but I realized I wouldn't like him if he was ugly so, that love isn't real. My all time favorite characters are Fred and George though, and you said no about Weasleys. *sigh*

Neville and brothers (Gary and Phil Neville

Sirius Black! And Peeves:D

I would LOVE to answer Severus Snape, but we said no professors.

So my top three is:

1) Neville Longbottom:
as much as I expected Snape to be far more complex than believed at the beginning, I was sincerely surprised by Neville. God, what a strong, brave, lovable young man! His character development is definitely one of the best of the whole series.

2) Sirius Black:
Because.

3) Draco Malefoy:
My guilty pleasure. He isn't a nice person. He causes mess wherever he goes, and always seeks for more for the sake of being more and more annoying. Plus we realize that, despite his neverending bragging, he is actually so weak, so weak! I've always wondered if, really, his father felt any love for him, which breaks my heart because Draco obviously does his best to be the one his father would like him to be ("And my father this, and my father that, and when I tell my father blah blah blah..."). He is an anti-heroe, and incredibly human!

Hermione. Unless she counts as a fantastic creature.

Neville Longbottom!!!!!! :)

Has anyone mentioned Seamus?

Marvolo Gaunt :D

Sirius. Damaged and lonely, full of anger, yet dedicated to protecting his god son.

My favorite girl though, who isn't a Weasley or a Professor, is Luna

Draco, of course. Snape and the Weasley twins are my top favorites, but then it has to be Draco. And since there's no Weasleys or professors allowed, I'll have to say Draco.

Neville and Colin Creevey

Neville, for all of the reasons people have listed.

Draco, then Snape, then Marcus Flint, then Blaise Zabini. That they are all Slytherins is sheer co-incidence.

Draco was briefly a ferret - so can he be included ? If not, Dean Jordan can replace him.

sirius black

I'd say Neville.
I love how at the beginning, he was the scared one, the nervous and shy Gryffindor who went against the house stereotype terribly; many saw him as a weakling and just one to mess everything up, and he was so clumsy and mediocre at schoolwork that some teachers (like McGonagall and Snape) were harsh with him.

Over the series, we saw him develop from that to one of the clearest Gryffindor males we have: he started out small and scared, but he conquered his fear and fought. In DH, (view spoiler) Neville showed his true strengths and became greater: a hero, a friend, one who fought for what was right even when he knew he would get hurt. That's why he's my favorite male character with the standards set up in the discussion.

Sirius, Luna, and Neville. I think I'm a mixture of all 3 in some way.

Sirius and Lupin.

Sirius Black, no contest

My favorite male character is definitely Sirius Black. Always has been. I love a lot of other characters too but he's my fav.

I like Neville and Sirius but Dean is a nice character as well. I mean, he's kind of an artist, his best friend's Seamus Finnigan and he always defends Lupin as the best professor ever.
Also,I like Blaise Zabini and Theodore Nott but I think it's because of fanfictions I've read.
Not to forget Seamus himself and characters such as Lee Jordan or Oliver Wood because they are all funny and nice in their own way.

Remus J. Lupin, to the end. He's someone I've always felt sad for and when I read about him and his life on Pottermore I had tears running down my face. He's a good man.

That is a hard question, so it's a toss up between

Draco,
Neville,
Sirius,
and Peeves.

I just cannot decide...

Ilove Draco <3<3

Well, that excludes quite a few. Does Sirius count? He wasn't a professor or anything.

Severus Snape

Draco Malfoy :)

Sirius Black but I also like Luna.

Neville Longbottom all the way! I love how he evolved throughout the story; how he was seen as weak and awkward, but still managed to summon the courage and strength to confront his insecurities. No matter what, he kept his integrity and proved all the others wrong!

uhmmm...do you mean beast by creature? or do you mean anything besides solid human characters?

well i'd choose Peeves but if you mean the latter then its Mad-eye

Sirius

Neville and Sirius.

Lupin!!!! He (over all) is my favorite character in all of the books! He is kind, and helped HP out a lot in #3. Other than that one chapter int he last book (if you know what I mean) was terrible and I felt bad for Lupins worry about hurting Tonks and his future child!
~I LOVE LUPIN!~

Neville. He is an idiot but he is brave and that's what makes him a true Griffindore . He is also a teacher at Hogwart

draco malefoy. I really like him! and snape
