Sweet! ~ Any plans for next month?
I didn't get The Night Circus finished until today. I don't usually read fantasy but this was magic and with the romance between the two main characters it was pretty good. 4/5
So far this month I've read 2 Alexander McCall Smith books: Tears of the Giraffe and Morality for Beautiful Girls. They were both great. I got hooked on them when we read The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency together here last year.
Today I finished The Day of the Storm. I was craving a good British story. This was a very fast read.
The Fault in Our Stars is a great book and I would highly recommend it. Yes it is sad, but so well written that I felt as though I knew the characters. There are so many of us who know someone who is faced with challenges such as the families in this story.
Mockingjay was a page-turner for me. I am so impressed with Collins' writing and the way she added so many details to put the reader right at the scene. This should be a great movie. I hear it's going to be in November!
Oh how I love Janet Evanovich. Notorious Nineteen is classic and I loved it! I gave it 4 stars, it's funny and a really quick read.
I finished Gone Girl yesterday. There are so many twists and turns in this book that genuinely catch the reader off guard. Flynn writes so well of the psychological games people play with each other. She writes so completely about what a criminal can do to cover their tracks. This book was a real page-turner for me. I look forward to seeing the movie. 5 stars for me.

Wow! The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America What a great book! Erik Larson wrote a masterpiece for history buffs. I highly recommend this book.

I hi..."Megan, I have that on my list. I added it after I started White City. I am so amazed at Larson's vocabulary! It's a good book to read on a Kindle. He is so thorough as well, he leaves no leaf unturned. Works well with my personality. lol
I cried! I don't cry easily but Firefly Lane made me laugh out loud and cry too, remembering the 70's (when I graduated HS), the music, the clothes it's all in here. This is a book about best friends and it's not always "best." It's real in that way. It's about relationships inside of families and out. It's a tearjerker too. I loved it! 5/5
The Little Lady Agency is such a cute book. If you like British romance this is a great one to read.
A Victorian Christmas was an ok book for Christmas reading. It is a series of short stories, all romances, where there is a problem with the man and woman not being able to get together until the end of the story. I gave it a 3/5.
Her Royal Spyness was another British book I read in December. I like it and I will probably read the next in the series.
