Whoa, now I'm all excited! I really enjoyed the two Lord of the White Hell books, and didn't think there was going to be another one.

I wonder if the characters from the two earlier books will be featured in this new tale, or whether it focuses on entirely new characters in the same world as the other books...
'Course, now I'm getting the title Champion of the Scarlet Wolf confused with Kirby Crow's Scarlet and the White Wolf. Heh... (Though---if anyone hasn't read Crow's series yet, by all means give it a try. If you enjoy Ginn Hale's work, you'll likely enjoy the Scarlet series as well.)

Hi! I mostly lurk around these parts, but I thought i'd pass along some salient information:The new White Hell books are set a few years after the first two and will follow one of the supporting characters Elezar Grunito from the originals. Ginn Hale posted rough drafts of the first two chapters earlier this year on her livejournal.

I'm looking forward to re-visiting this world; I'll have to remember to re-read the first two books just before the new titles are released, so it's all fresh in my mind....

I just finished the White Hell series and loved it, so I'm thrilled to hear there will be more coming. I enjoyed the Grunitos, so it'll be interesting to learn more from Elezar's perspective. I hope we see Kiram and Javier at least make an appearance in this one.

I started book one but didn't finish it, since I figured I'd forget all the details before book two came out. But what I did read was quite good---I really got drawn into the story. So I think I'll buy the second book as a Christmas present to myself, and then enjoy a reading of the two books after the holidays...

Checking in--I'm halfway through, or a bit more, in the first Champion of the Scarlet Wolf series, and bought book two already. Ginn Hale is an amazing writer, and while her narrative choices sometimes make me anxious (she does push a few of my buttons), I am pretty much enthralled with Skellan and Elezar (of course, Skellan being a redhead sort of guaranteed it...)

Ah, you know, when I was reading this book I thought that you might like it, due to the redhead factor! Heh, heh, heh...
But I'm curious---what do you mean when you say the author pushes a few of your buttons?

Oh, there's the whole being gay but sleeping with women to cover issue--it happened in the first books, and indeed in this one Elezar alludes to orgies in whorehouses with Atreau and Javier--the Hellions. It is simply one of my deeply rooted things. As long as no one actually does it on the page in front of me (i.e. sleep with women), I'm OK. (Obviously straight men can sleep with women--but I still don't want to read about it in my gay romance novels!)
also, now on book two...Ginn Hale is so gifted with words...even the place names. Milmuraille, the city where much of the action takes place in these two books, is not a real place name, but can be parsed out as "Thousand Great Walls," which surely describes the city to a t.
Ulysses wrote: "Oh, there's the whole being gay but sleeping with women to cover issue--it happened in the first books, and indeed in this one Elezar alludes to orgies in whorehouses with Atreau and Javier..."Thanks for saving me the time then Ulysses. This is one of my biggest pet peeves (though it's absolutely the norm in MM Romance). It's not even always to cover up either, I feel lots of female authors like to throw in some MF scenes just for titillation. Or maybe too just because they can. I don't know. I was scratching my head at how unnecessary it was in the first book, but I borrowed these anyway thinking "new characters, new personalities, new adventures". But I guess not. Anyhow, I really appreciate you for mentioning it.
Ulysses wrote: "But in these two books, there isn't any...just allusions to past events..."Thanks but it still just kills the vibe for me. Personal niggle I guess. I agree with you that her writing itself is nice though. I did enjoy Wicked Gentlemen. But I guess I just get turned off easily by certain tropes. Like it's hard for me to invest in a type of character who visits whorehouses anyway, or has orgies, etc... I know that makes me sort of an odd man out in our genre though. Lol.
According to the Blind Eye Books newsletter, there will be a third set of books in Ginn Hale's Cadeleonian series. You can see a rough sample at Ginn's blog.
