I am trying to remember the title of a book I read about a girl who is close to the blast of a school bomb and she is blind, but her doctors cannot figure out why because nothing is physically wrong with her eyes. By the end of the book she remembers what happened during the bombing and how her boyfriend stepped in front of her to save her for the blast, but he died in the process. She saw him blow up and blocked it out so she could not see. There is also a side story about the loner boy they think might have set the bomb, but he didn't and was only in there right after the blast because he was late and he helps save some people including the main character and he also helps her remember so she gets her sight back. There are a few chapters in the voice of the bombers and why they did it. I just can't remember the title....

What year did you read it? Was it a new book? Was hysterical blindness (the term) used in the story by the doctors?
Sounds like it's now known as conversion blindness.
What year did you read it? Or early or late 1990s? Early or late 2000?
I think I read it in the last year or two. It is a young adult book and I think was new when I read it so like 2010 to now I think... I can remember all the stuff that happened, just not the title. This I why I started using Good Reads to keep track of my books...
