1) What is romance to you and 2) As a reader, what do you get from reading YA contemporary romance novels?

Hi everyone. I wanted to try reading something new for a change. A friend of mine suggested why not read romance novels. I was somewhat surprised at the suggestion. Of course, I thought about it, and thought, why not?

I just wanted to ask those that read this thread the following:

1] In your opinion, what is romance to you?

2] What do you as a reader, get from reading YA contemporary romance novels?
