I've finished the first 5 chapters, and this is interesting so far. (view spoiler)[The perspectives of Em and Marina have completely differing views on Finn, so a lot must have changed in those four years. It is interesting that Em and Finn have traveled to the past before, yet they have no memories of these time traveling experiences. Em sees a note from herself, so she knows she has gone to the past and done other things. It is a unique idea to think that there are these other versions of Em and Finn out there. (hide spoiler)]

Just finished chapter 5

(view spoiler)[ frankly I was a little confused at first, but now wow! I think I'm going to like this one.

Yes the Finn in Marina's POV and Em's are somehow different, yet so much similar at the same time, like both are kinda goofy.

My guess is both Marina and Em are the same person. Em = M as in Marina. And they are going to kill James. I hope my guess is not right. I like James. (hide spoiler)]

Yeah, I usually don't read the ones that are marked with spoiler alerts, but I'll read other reviews. I'm sorry if the thing about Em and Marina was a spoiler. I think I also read it on the original synopsis of the book, so I didn't realize that I wasn't supposed to know it already at the beginning of the book.

I'm in chapter 7, and it's really interesting right now. Once I finish chapter 10, I'll post my thought.

:) Nah it's ok. Come to think of it, I didn't even read the synopsis :D I like it a lot so far. Great book!

I've finished chapter 10. (view spoiler)[About the shooting of Nate, I'm not positive, but I feel like they weren't the ones who shot Nate. I believe they knew that happened since it was something from their past, and they knew it would be a time when James would be vulnerable, so it might be easier to shoot him. You're probably right about James and Cassandra. I bet the paper that he was working has something to do with that. Maybe he thought that if he made a time machine he could go back in time and save Nate from being shot. So far, Em and Finn have mentioned how James has changed from the boy they knew, so it will be interesting to see how he changes. (hide spoiler)]

I've now read through chapter 15. (view spoiler)[I wonder what was happening in CT. It must have been important and had something to do with the shooting. Also, it is interesting how Em and Finn have changed the past so now Marina experiences some things that never happened to Em. (hide spoiler)]

I was shocked when learning that the doctor is James! Like seriously?!?! I didn't see that coming at all.

It makes everything more excited that Finn and Em now can't predict what James, Finn and Marina are going to do next. (hide spoiler)]

About your comments on chapter 15, (view spoiler)[I agree about James being the doctor. They seem like completely different characters. James really doesn't seem like a bad guy. It is exciting since they don't know what they are going to do. (hide spoiler)]

I've finished up through chapter 20. (view spoiler)[It is so sad that Nate must have died. I'm assuming that it the phone call that James got. I still like James, and it will interesting to see how he ends up turning into the doctor. I wonder about the email message from Richter, and what it means. Now I wonder if James's motivations for wanting to time travel have to do with the death of his parents since Nate hadn't been shot yet when he started doing his research. (hide spoiler)]

Yes, I liked James too :( It was hard imagine him becoming the doctor.

Young Finn was shot, but in the end he was still there. And Young James killed himself after Nate died, but in the end he committed suicide.

I finished the book and I really liked it. (view spoiler)[I am confused by Nate being alive at the end. I understand that the time machine didn't happen, so the doctor couldn't have sent someone to kill Nate, but I thought he was killed in the past, in Marina's original life, before she became Em. I also don't understand why Marina doesn't remember anything about being in the house on the Chesapeake. I guess she wouldn't remember seeing Em because Em would never have existed then, but it is a bit confusing. (hide spoiler)]

Yeah that part got me confused too. I still think it moved too fast, like one minute Finn was dead and then he was alive again.

Yeah, it was kind of sudden. One chapter Em watched him die, and then the next chapter, Marina is talking about standing next to Finn at James's funeral, so I realized, I guess he's alive again.

So true! I had to go back and retread that part. I thought I missed something.
