No 2/6 in Mickey Mouse has been completed: The Cabinet of Curiosities. I gave it 4 stars. I really like Preston/Child's style and am looking forward to #5 in the series. It's coming up on my MM list.

Glad to hear you liked The Fingersmith narration. It can be harder ( for me) to follow complicated plots on audio but perfect for a reread. Usually I try to read/ listen so I have the book to refer back to.You are marching right along with Mickey. I have had Relic on my TBR for a while. I need to get around to it! I'm glad the series continues to be a good read.
Woohoo! Half way there on Mickey Mouse... 3/6 completed: The Way of Shadows. This is a prime example of what you pointed out about complicated plots on audiobook, Marnie. Not only was it an ambitious story, it had a plethora of characters. Some of the characters had more than one name. The main character went by 5 different names.
Plus the narrator zipped through the different points of view like they were a run on sentence. I wonder if I would have enjoyed it more if I had read it in print format.
I'm just a-marching my way through Mickey's Marchers! That's 4/6 completed: The Angel's Game. I've been very lucky with the books in this section with most of them a 4 star read.
Isn't nice when you seem to mostly read good books? :0). I also have The Angel Game in my current level list. Seeing that you enjoyed make me eve more anxious to read it...
Marie Claude wrote: "Isn't nice when you seem to mostly read good books? :0). I also have The Angel Game in my current level list. You may find the discussion interesting while you are reading it, especially the parts about the end of the story.
Judy wrote: "You are doing a really good job of getting through the chunksters, Janice."I've surprised at how quickly I've marched through MM section. I was a bit sluggish with SS.
Woohoo! I've marched through Mickey's section in short order! I now have to plan the next section, I've already started The Lies of Locke Lamora, so I'll have to figure out the connections to include it.
Great job on Mickey Janice! Are you planning on reading The Angel of Darkness? I just read it and enjoyed it. Wish he had written more in this series.
Marnie wrote: "Great job on Mickey Janice! Are you planning on reading The Angel of Darkness? I just read it and enjoyed it. He'll like the intellectual discussions and the history.
Nice one Janice. Looking forward to seeing what you have planned for the next section. Have fun with Locke Lamora!
Next one is all planned. Here's a copy of it from page 1:Road Runner's Racers

13. The Lies of Locke Lamora (501 pages) links to fantasy genre
14. Theft of Swords (682 pages) links to fantasy genre
15. Grave Mercy (549 pages) links to a vampire which rises from the grave
16. Lover Revealed (512 pages) links to something else that rises
17. Black Sun Rising (544 pages) Links to a description of the sun
18. Inferno (522 pages)
Grave Mercy was one of last year's SYNC offerings. It's on my old iPad and can't be moved to the new one. Hopefully, that's the last of the books on my old iPad.
Sarah wrote: "Nice list!"Thanks Sarah. There's a lot of fantasy on it. Last year, I read a lot of mysteries. It looks like the flavour for this year is fantasy. :)
Yes I noticed that it was pretty fantasy based for this section. Hope you enjoy it. I keep seeing your book 14 coming up in recommendations so I will be watching out for what you think of it.
I've revamped my Roadrunner list again to swap out a couple of books. I loved Theft of Swords so much, I downloaded the next book in the series and started it. Plus, I'll be reading The Terror with another group next month.linked from book 12: Fantasy genre
✔ 13. The Lies of Locke Lamora (501 pages) links by authors' initials (Scott to Simmons)
14. The Terror (769 pages) links by authors' initials (Simmons to Sullivan)
✔ 15. Theft of Swords (682 pages) links to next in the series genre
16. Rise of Empire (756 pages) links to fantasy genre
17. Grave Mercy (549 pages) links to fantasy genre
18. Black Sun Rising (544 pages)
I finished Rise of Empire and must say that the Riyria Revelations series by Michael J. Sullivan has taken over my Roadrunner list! I punted Grave Mercy in favour of the last book in the series, Heir of Novron. I must continue because I'm completely obsessed with Royce and Hayden and how this story is going to end.
Isn't it wonderful to find a great series? I haven't read Michael J Sullivan but we share a name ( Sullivan was my maiden name) and he is on my TBR.
This series were the first of Sullivan's books that I've read and I'm in for the long haul with him, Sarah. I have all the Riyria Chronicles series already purchased:
The Crown Tower
The Rose and the Thorn
The Viscount and the Witch
and short story, The Jester
One book left to go in the Rood Runner Racers section! I finished The Terror and Heir of Novron. I didn't want that series to end, and I'm a little sad!

Love your heavy breathing connection!
AND how simple is a female author connection? I could have saved myself from a lot of struggle, had I thought of that!☻
Will the heavy breathing be the result of exhaustion from carrying the massive book around as you are reading it or the other kind? I agree with Almeta's comment regarding "female author". Hmmm. That might give me a chance for figuring out how to get the three books in the All Souls Trilogy (that I just blew through) into my Micky list without straining my brain.
Wow Janice, a whole section in little over a month! I have Cutting for Stone on my TBR too, and as a possibility for the chunkster challenge, but I keep adding other books before that one and now I'm not sure if I will manage this year. I'm looking forward to your thoughts on it :)

I'm looking forward to seeing what you think of this, as I just recently bought the whole Newsflesh trilogy, but have not had time to start it yet.
I keep looking at Feed to and can't decide whether to read it or not. It's been on and off my wishlist for ages so I too will be looking forward to hearing what you think of it Janice.
Almeta wrote: "AND how simple is a female author connection? I could have saved myself from a lot of struggle, had I thought of that..."I was desperate! I had to link those two books somehow!
Cherie wrote: "Will the heavy breathing be the result of exhaustion from carrying the massive book around as you are reading it.... "Ahhhh... no. Between Kushiel's Dart and Lover Revealed, I'll be wishing I had a man in my life. ROFL!
You could also link the three books as series, like I did with the Riyria Revelations.
Travis of NNY wrote: "Feed is pretty good after a fashion. The first half drafts a bit. Or so I thought."That doesn't sound promising, but then I think that's a risk with some chunksters. I made it through The Terror which suffered from the same draggy start.
Janice wrote: "You could also link the three books as series, like I did with the Riyria Revelations. ..."It is not the links between the books, but the way I set up my catagories in my Mickey Mouse section.
One, Two, Three and A,B,C,D is what I was trying to preserve. I think I can do it now because I can go from Three Dog Life to A Discovery of Witches using Female Author. "All Souls Trilogy" will be the way to link all three books in the A,B,C,D theme after I remove Abigail Adams. I feel like the little train... "I think I can". :)
(You know I was teasing about the heavy breathing. I was pretty sure the latter and I was only having fun, but 1,000 pages is heavy lifting. I have a Daniel DeFoe volume with 5 books at the end of my challenge that weighs a ton! It sits on my book shelf over one of the supports. I am afraid that the shelf will sag out of shape if it were in the middle.)
Moving right along Janice! I read Cutting for Stone years ago for RL book club. We had those that loved it and those that found it too depressing. I think I was one that liked it but my memory is too old to remember. I do remember liking Inferno.
Marnie wrote: "Moving right along Janice! I read Cutting for Stone years ago for RL book club. We had those that loved it and those that found it too depressing. I think I was one that liked it but..."You did, Marnie! Remember, we took a tour looking up all of the places that they went to.
Cherie wrote: "You did, Marnie! Remember, we took a tour looking up all of the places that they went to. "Oh that sounds like fun!
I found an online puzzle for The Da Vinci Code. The clues had me searching the cover and throughout the book for answers. I didn't have the hardcover, so I was at Costco closely examining the cover.

No, I don't facebook too much any more. I got too hung up on checking out what was going on. I probably should check more often for family stuff. Seems to be how most of mine check in - except I get tired of their stupid posts and comments. I want them to get a life besides spending all of their time searching the internet for things to post and taking dumb pictures of themselves.
