Bionic Jean (bionicjean) Well done Tracey! It's so great to have a little time in hand to sneak in something impromptu :)

Tracey (traceypb) | 1193 comments I am going to do some re-arranging of my lists as I have moved Mrs Dalloway to March as an additional read for my 50 books this year challenge and also I an reading Oliver Twist alongside Jean to so Little Dorrit might be nudged down a bit.(or not) lol

message 54: by Bionic Jean (new)

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) I like it Tracey! :D

message 55: by Tracey (new)

Tracey (traceypb) | 1193 comments I have edited my main list and taken Mrs Dalloway off and replaced it with The War of the Worlds because I am going to be reading it along with Shirley in March.

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) Ditto my previous thought - I love H.G.Wells!

Tracey (traceypb) | 1193 comments I finished Oliver twist and for me it was just 3 starts and that mostly for the unforgettable characters in this book, Fagin , Bill Sikes, Nancy. Yes he does do 'baddies' so well...

Tracey (traceypb) | 1193 comments Just looking forward to my April reads and my partner Mark is going to read The war of the worlds with me. (We have 2 copies) That will be a whole new perspective on a read a long lol. I promise not to be influenced by him when it comes to review time. :)

message 59: by Bionic Jean (new)

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) What a great idea, Tracey! We used to occasionally read a book together, but it wasn't that successful with one copy. Unless you're really in tune, then one of you will read quicker and it kind of destroys the enjoyment when you're waiting for a page turn! LOL

Two copies is definitely the way to go!! (Though Chris does read to me too, currently View With a Grain of Sand: Selected Poems by Wisława Szymborska, and that works out really well as long as I don't fall asleep :D )

I reread The War of the Worlds a few months ago. Loved it and gave it 5*!

Tracey (traceypb) | 1193 comments The War of the Worlds was great had fun discussing it with Mark however I was really unwell and he read it much faster than me.
Also just finished Romeo and Juliet Wow 5 magnificent stars from me.

Tracey (traceypb) | 1193 comments Totally off track here :( Reading is hard at the minute but trying bits here and there and whatever I can't do this time will still be there next year...

message 63: by Bionic Jean (new)

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) Very wise as always, Tracey :) And you may find something easy and fun grabs your attention when you're least expecting it :)

message 64: by Gemma (new)

Gemma (gemmagem20) | 460 comments I like this Idea, Tracey. I've not really ever read classics. I'm reading Pride & Prejudice next so depending on how I get on with that, I may read more.

Tracey (traceypb) | 1193 comments due to unforeseen circumstances my list is going to be for guidance only however the plan for this month (June) is
1,Finish the excellent Nineteen Eighty-Four
2,Missed from last month Between Shades Of Gray
3,Attack 11/22/63
4,Hope to get to Jamaica Inn but not holding my breath :)

message 66: by Bionic Jean (new)

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) I've just finished reading Jamaica Inn - and think you'll really enjoy it when you get there Tracey :) I'd be interested to hear what you think to 11/22/63 as I'd been wondering about that one...
