The least that could be done to help calm the of the Nevermore series outrage is to release a summary for the book...

She's currently working on a new project unrelated to the Nevermore trilogy. If you check her facebook, you'll see that she regularly posts about her progress on this new book.

I don't think there was any physical seduction involved with either Poe or Varen. They both had women in their lives that they cared about. I think it was more of just exploiting their emotional vulnerabilities since both felt like outcasts in the real world.

I do check her Facebook, which is how I know that even though she updates constantly about her new project and belly dancing classes, she never mentioned any updates on Oblivion. She could have at least bothered to let us know what was happening. If that other reader hadn't asked her on twitter, who knows how long we would have been waiting to get Oblivion thinking it had been released? A few lines typed on facebook wouldn't have interrupted her personal life or new project. I used to write on wattpad and I always let my readers know it'd be a while until the next chapter

Yeah, that makes sense... Lilith did this to Poe and Varen in order to find a way to exist in the real world, right? She lives off of them writing about her. Varen's journal was Lilith's link to the real world and that's why Isobel destroyed (if I recall correctly).

*dies because I can't possibly wait until July*

The way the book reads and the order of her reactions after she returns to her body right before it almost dies makes me think that she does NOT understand why he did it. I mean, think about her reaction right when she wakes up in the very last chapter before the Epilogue in Enshadowed.
She is first described as trying her best to remember what happened: "But it couldn't end like this, she thought. She had to know what had happened to him. At the very least, she had to know if she'd been able to bring him home. She couldn't leave, she couldn't go anywhere until she knew for sure."
Then, right after she goes back into her body from being in her astral form, the book reads: "The pain in her body came first, an intense surge of fire that raged like lava through her veins. But it could not compare with what followed after. A wail rose up from her depths. It left her as an inhuman cry. Finally, she remembered everything."
She's described as releasing an "inhuman cry" when everything that she experienced comes rushing back to her- her going to Baltimore to see Reynolds, her journey back into the Dream World, her encounter with Lilth, and finally her encounter with Varen. You don't react like that unless something terrible has happened to cause you to be so upset. The book is basically saying that the emotional pain she feels at the betrayal of Varen is so much more painful than the physical pain her body is in after whatever happened to it. (It sounds like her falling off of the cliff in the dream world somehow parallels into the real world which is why she almost died- she does see that her body is battered and bruised when the doctors are trying to save her).
To be honest, I think girl is going to be scared sh*tless of him when she first sees him in Oblivion because she's not going to know what to make of him after what he did to her in Enshadowed.

I agree. She's not going to be very eager to reunite with this new Varen, especially after what he did to her.

I have a bit of a random question (because I can't remember). Does the Grim Facade occur on Halloween in Nevermore?

Yep.
Yep.

Finally! :P
Finally! :P

Because when it comes to the final book of this series….

And it's only the end of January.

I mean….

But, really…

Did you see the page count for Oblivion?!
I can't wait to read every single on of those 448 Beautiful pages.

I'm actually going to be traveling through the southern states around that time and am going to try to go to the party. I want to meet Kelly in person so bad lol.

Hey, Emma, I'm not seeing your comment showing up. Are you going to the release party?

No, I'm afraid not but it sounds like a really cool event. She sounds like a real character and down-to-earth person. She alludes to other projects a lot on facebook and twitter. Hopefully we see more from her. I really appreciated her writing more the second time through the book.

The only thing that bothers me is that I think one of them said that we wouldn't see a lot of Varen like what happened in Enshadowed; I hope we see more scenes of him and Isobel actually interacting; I didn't like how besides hardly seeing him in Enshadowed, the few times we did see him (aside from the final chapter and Epilogue), he never spoke to Isobel (which was understandable given the circumstances of each time he saw her but still).

I saw that too & was leary also. I feel like we hanging in there that entire second book dying for the interaction between them! My second read, knowing it wouldn't come, I hung on much more even to her interactions with pinfeathers.
I also agree with those comments on here and the reviews that they want to see him fight for her this time. I was cool with the ending of the last one- heartbreaking but cool and so tragic. But she's been through the ringer! I need for him to "wake up" and fight for her too.
And, agreed, it's those interactions between them from the first book that sunk the claws in so deep- definitely wanting more. They really had so little actual interaction and even just the one kiss- but it was written well enough for us to be hanging on to their story still so passionately.

That would really suck. Interaction between the two of them seems necessary, especially if they're going to patch things up from how badly the last time they met (at the end of Enshadowed) went. I also really want to know what's going on inside Varen's head. The glimpses we saw in the previous books were insightful, but I want to know what he's thinking when he's with Lilith. What runs through his head? How bad is the suffering of being her puppet?

Totally agreed. I think Isobel's character is going need something from him in order to keep fighting. Even if the reader knows that maybe he didn't think that was her and maybe he's being mind-tortured by Lilith, she doesn't necessarily know that. We, as readers, can't really keep respecting her if she just goes back in for more punishment unless her hope for their love is hinged on something. Ah- just talking and thinking about it makes me crazy. I don't think I've ever pined for a book this badly.

I feel the same! The only other authors who have ever made me feel this antsy about reading a book is Julie Kagawa (Blood of Eden) and Barry Lyga (I Hunt Killers).

I've been rereading the first two books to keep myself somewhat sane (it barely helps, especially with the second book's cliff hanger)...

I refuse to spoil this book for myself, so no comments revealing any of Oblivion's plot (however you may hear about it) on this thread until the book comes out!

I agree. I'd rather not know yet. Hopefully, Oblivion will have been worth the wait.

This is something I just thought about and am wondering if anyone else has wondered the same: Where in the world does Nevermore take place? Is it ever mentioned?

I don't think she'll change it again. And I agree, it's sad to see the series end, but who knows? Maybe she'll write a spin-off series or short stories from Varen's POV. It'd be cool if she did....
