I think that is a great idea!
I am willing to read and review your novel...I am interested to read what you think of the educational system!

I'm always willing to let someone read any of my Regency romances that they might want. It is not a genre for everyone, though.

I would like to read/review 'Heartless' you don't have to send it as an e-book though, I will order it since it is over 200 pages!
I am looking forward to it!

You are so sweet! All my books are my babies, but Heartless is my special baby. (I'm such a bad mother!) People seem very attracted to that book.
Actually, I ordered some books that I'm going to autograph and sell from my website if you want to wait a bit. They will be offered for the list price and free shipping for US residents. I haven't worked out all the details yet but I will probably offer a discount to anyone who wants to order all four.

I have copies of 'Sporadic Memories' that I too will autograph and send out...the final two of the trilogy will be released soon!
I am Canadian! lol

Ooo, I heard shipping US to Canada is insane now. Anybody know the lowdown on that?

I pay $7.00 to ship to the US, and that's sending the books as 'Light Packet USA'
You can ask your post office dealer to give you prices on about 4 different ways to ship...sometimes express is cheaper and faster of course.
Wow. I'll have to look into that. Maybe I can work out a deal for anyone in Canada; half-priced shipping or something of the sort.

Yolanda, you and I need to connect. Do you have an eBook version? My book is about the injustices that take place in the classroom particularly to teachers.

Ali, you are not paying me a dime for that book so forget it. Thank you so much for taking your time to read and evaluate my book. It meant so much!!! I understand if some of us need to collect money for our books to cover expenses and when I can buy a book my fellow author's on Goodreads will be the first ones I patron. For the next month, I am doing reorders for my own book and I am looking for eBook exchanges because quite frankly I am broke. If you are willing to do that, I am your woman!
PS. When you send me a book I am reading it right away and pumping out what I know will be a great review. That is the purpose of this thread. Speaking kind words about our work will inspire our readers to purchase and refer. Again, if we do not feel comfortable giving a high review then at least that author will receive encouragement and suggestions from a peer who wishes them well.

Madison and Yolanda - I'd be interested in reading and reviewing yours.

Thank you again for asking us to review your book, (everyone!) we should be the first ones to read and review each other's work...we're in the same profession, so therefore have the same understanding of what we need.
I am happy to be a part of this group!
YOLANDA-I will start your book today...thank you for the link!
Sincerely y'all,
Ali :)

Edited to add: sensitive readers should be advised that there are some erotic elements to my novel, and that it is *not* suitable for readers under age 18.

Please add me to the list Sharon. I will send you an email so you can request and eBook. Speaking of which how does adding your book as an eBook work? I have been exploring this option.

Hi, Madison. With each book listing, there is an option to "Add Another Edition." I'll be doing that with the paperback when it's available. Just go to the listing on your profile. The listing has boxes to complete, some of which are pull-down menus. One of the choices is eBook, and you just complete the appropriate options from there.

Thanks Sharon!

Thanks, everyone. :-)
Earlier, I posted in this thread that I was planning to sell autographed copies of my Regency romances from my site. Well, I'm selling them from my blog instead. I did finally get my copies and set up the paypal links and whatnot. I have them set up for List Price+free shipping. I can only do USA orders at this time; if anyone outside the US wants one, please message me here on goodreads. I will consider trading pbs for review exchanges, but I only have a very few copies of each book and a couple are already spoken for. Click the books below for blurbs.

Which one should I start with?

Chronologically, Betrayal is first. That's usually where I tell people to start.
If you want, Madison, we can do an e-book exchange. Betrayal for The Poisoned Apple. If you're interested. :o)

I've gotten that reaction quite often, actually. But when you start a Regency romance with the heroine in prison, it makes people wonder. A lot.

An ebook is basically any book in electronic format that is not a hardcopy. Kindle, PDF, Word or other formats. There are ways to protect you PDF's but in reality, if someone downloads it onto their computer, there are ways around just about any protection. You own the rights to your work and it's very unlikely someone would go through the trouble of handing it out. In reality, you run the same risk by letting people by hard copies or paperbacks. Someone could just as easily scan the pages and print them out and hand them out on a street corner. You have to trust no matter which media you choose.

Kgcummings said: "I have a question... when you talk about ebooks, do you mean Kindle or pdf files? If they are pdf files, how do you prevent the receiver from printing out and handing them out on street corners? Please excuse my lack of knowledge in this area. I'm 60 and willing to learn the ropes! My pdf files are mine but in the form of a galley. Would that be acceptable to exchange? Thank you all for any feedback to enlighten this gal. kgc"
We are discussing PDFs. :o)
I have my PDFs "secured" against people copying words or passages or making changes, etc, but I do allow low-res printing. My program will allow me to prevent printing, too, but I know some people like to print them out and read away from the computer.
New question: What's a galley?
Oh, Kathy, I have pbs in my possession now if you still want to do the pb exchange for reviews. :o)

If you want to trade pdf's or books... either way is good with me. I'd like to start at the beginning of your series... you know, first things first! Actually had someone email me once asking what book I would suggest they start with! Felt like saying, "how about the book that says One on it!" And I'm the blonde! ha ha Just let me know what you would like to do. kgc
Great, Kathy! If you want to go the simple, less expensive route (PDF exchange), I'm game. :o) I have a few ahead of you at this time but I should be able to get to it in a couple of weeks...I hope.
Oh, and I'd like to start with book Three. Just kiddin! LOL ;o)
I'll message you with my email...

My publisher was able to put a password on my eBook. You may want to look into this. But Jj is right if people want to scam your book they can. Just try to be as discerning as you can. The only people who view my book are people in the publishing world and close friends and family. I find the people in this network awesome so I would highly recommend sharing your work in this group.

Can I just say that I am loving this idea. Two wonderful professional authors Ali and Jaimey took their valuable time to read my work. I cannot tell you how much your reviews mean to me. I value your insight and feedback. There is nothing like receiving wisdom from a veteran author. This newbie is loving it!!! You all need to try this. By the way, Jaimey has got me hooked on a romance novel. I cannot stand this genre so the child is good....
