I felt the same way Jenn! Love the Peppers! Felt like a school girl watching them perform with Bruno, whom I also adore. I have gone through 2 RHCP "Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik" albums. My current copy is scratched, at the end of the CD it gets difficult to listen to the music. When I am having a troublesome, pity, woe is me day, I crank that CD and jam! The power of music, books and friend are soothing! When we were living in Green Bay, RHCP's were preforming in Milwaukee, (an hour and half away) on Nov. 1st, which was our 15th wedding anniversary, two years ago. I wanted to go so bad. Due to being a good employee and lack of finances kept me from seeing them. Plus hubby doesn't care for them, I don't hold it against him.
Played Joust the other day and had a flashback to my childhood and the book "Ready Player One". That was a great book! Thanks everyone for recommending it!
Good luck Josh!
Hope everyone is doing well!
Omg Danell that's so cool! My bf and I would love to see them, the closest they come is Philly or NJ. I agree that music, books and friends help through anything life dishes out.I used to play Joust all the time, I miss playing those games. When I was laid off I bought a wii and don't play it much anymore. I loved going to Blockbuster and Hollywood video and spending $5.00 to rent a game for 5 days. Now to buy them $50.00 and up. You don't even know if you'll like the game either and once opened they tend not to take it back.
We have game fly. It works great for us. Pay a monthly fee, not sure how much, but get 2 - 3 games sent to us, play as long as we like then send them back. My son has had minecraft for a month now and asked how long he can keep it! Games are so pricey! We bought a playstation when we were first married and I thought I had outgrown the video games, well hubby bought me Spyro, addiction on!! I was off work for 3 months and I would play that game through the night. He would get up to get ready for work and ask me if I was up all night playing that game...yup!! Since the orginal playstation no longer worked, hubby bought one at a used game store for our 15th anniversary. He then went on craigslist and found a Spyro game for me! Is that better than seeing RHCP's in Milwaukee...think it is a tie!
I still have my Ninetendo and games from high school! We need to hook it up, but our son loved Super Mario Bro's 3. I miss playing those old games!
Was spoiled growing up, my family owned a bar/restaurant. My dad had a glass of quarters behind the bar and after my homework was done I could grab quarters, go in the game room and play until it was time for mom to take us home.
Wish I could see RHCP in concert, that would be awesome!! Someday perhaps!! Use to go to concerts all the time! Not big into crowds anymore! And am to old to be pulled up off the floor by security!! Do they have open seating anymore at concerts?
I loved Spyro too and Gex the Gekco lol. I do not have any kids only 2 cats and a dog, they are my family. My niece and nephew are in college and my other nephew is 12 so he always brings games when he comes up.I'd say you were spoiled grabbing those quarters and playing for hours, Josh would be jealous haha. I remember when pax man was at the local Turkey Hill gas station.
I like going to Penns Peak in Jim Thorpe for indoor concerts. It's all wooden in there like Country bear hall(if you ever seen that movie)
It's more personal there, I met Puddle of Mudd band members there and got autographs. Everclear and Live we seen this past June. Outdoor concerts here have seating or standing room. I like festivals cause there are a bunch of bands to see. I loved the Avenged Sevenfold with Disturbed. Ozzfest had System of a Down and I went to Crüe Fest twice.
You Rock Jenn! That is so cool seeing all those concerts!! Crue Fest and Ozzfest!! Would love to see some of those bands!! Got to see U2 perform at Mile High Stadium in 95(think that was the year). Rage Against the Machine opened for them. That was a great concert. Saw Blind Melon and Guns And Roses. Jackyl and Def Leppard. Poison and Warrant. Warrant at Sturgis Bike Week. Bush/Goo Goo Dolls/ No Doubt, got pulled off the floor on that one. Areosmith, got a boot to the cheek by a guy body surfing at that concert. Garth Brooks. ZZ Top. Queensryke. Alan Jackson. John Michael Montgomery. New Kids on the Block/Tiffany. Haven't been to outdoor festivals, think that would be fun! We have a 9 yr old. He loves his video games and it is fun watching him play. I don't mind him playing, as long as his grades are good.
Pets are family!! We have 3 cats and a turtle. What kind of dog do you have Jenn? We had a black lab, such a good dog. Our son left a box of crayons out and during the night the dog ate them. He died an hour before we were taking him to the vet. It was horrible. That was 4 yrs ago and it is still painful!
Wow you seen some awesome bands. I'm still laughing at your story about a boot to the face lol. I know how crazy that body surfing can be I hate that. It's like that person has a good time at other people's expense. My first concert was Aerosmith and Jackyl, I lived when they used the chainsaw in the show lol. Weezer was I think my favorite. It was a perfect summer night at Allentown fair for the show. On the way home we pulled over in the country just to look at all the stars. I would live to live in the country just to have peace and see the stars.
My dog is a Keeshond who doesn't like anyone but 3 people, very protective. He sprained his knee jumping so I had a $145.00 vet bill but whatcha gonna do. He gotta take it easy and he loves the snow, hates summer. We have so much ice and snow it's hard taking him for a walk today. I'm sorry to hear about your dog, that breaks my heart, I can't even watch animal cruelty stories. Well I gotta get ready for work, have a good day!
Happy Saturday everyone! I swore the weekend would never get here. Its been a long week. Danell, I am so sorry to hear about your dog.
I just finished 11/22/63 Its my time travel book. Its a good read, full of unexpected twists. Its also a love story of sorts and I did not expect that. The book dragged in bits but the details paid off in the end.

Thank you Christine. Losing a pet is difficult. He was such a good dog! We were blessed with the time we had with him. We almost lost him once before. He had an accident at my in-laws and required surgery, a drainage tube and lots of TLC. We were to travel to my friends wedding in SD and had to miss it due to the money we had saved had to go to the vet, plus Max needed our love and care. My friend is a dog lover and understood. Max healed and had no issues after his accident.
I do think the saying is true. You can tell about a person, by the way they treat animals.
I just finished
. Great book. I can identify with Sadie, she is tall and not the most graceful person. King is one of my favorite authors, read more of his books than any other authors. Can he get windy...yes. Can he write to scare the daylights out of me....yes. But he can also write a beautiful book like "The Green Mile". This one doesn't count towards the challenge, but some of you, my reading friends, wanted to know what I thought of the book. But you know what they say about opinions!
I am struggling with
for the challenge. Which I am using for the listopia part of the challenge. Going to check the list again and see if
is on the list, may tackle that one! Times a ticking! Happy Reading!
Happy Weekend!
Hope all is well!

I agree. I don't trust people that don't like animals. If I ever have a visitor in my home that says they don't like animals then I offer to lock them (the human) in the other room during their visit.

To Kill a Mockingbird is definitely on the list and is my all time favorite book. I have read it at least 5 times.

My cat read the book "To Kill a Mockingbird" he said there wasn't any useful information about killing birds in the book.

Rachel wrote: "HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING A GOOD DAY :D"I know I am late, but yeps, I had a great day on Sunday when you posted this, and I am having one today. Only one bad day within the past week. Dustin already knows why, my kitten Tigress got electrocuted by stepping on an exposed wire of my laptop charging cable back on Monday. Surprisingly she only had a seizure, no passing out, burns, or anything else. Once her seizure ended she turned out to be perfectly fine. I am still keeping a close eye on her. I am really thankful she survived without a scratch. The only thing I can think of is she had an angel watching out for her. Anyways, because that happened I taped the exposed wire up and I stopped leaving my computer on all day which in the end results from me being on the computer less because I dont want to wait on the computer to but up, and I also now check all my cables as well for nicks and cover them up right away before they get any worse.
Anyways, I have yet to finish a book.... I got back to my old bad habit of beginning a book and not finishing it. I blame video games. Mainly Final Fantasy. I am working on reading Wedge's Gamble by Michael A. Stackpole. I think I may reading Star Wars books for a while considering that some will become cannon to the movie series and I want to be prepared for Star Wars Episode VII. I am thinking that it will be set sometime after the New Republic era. I have based that on the fact of how long it has been since Episode VI came out and the year Episode VII will be coming out. Its been about 30 years and with in the official timeline given in the books, 20 years after Episode VI happened is the end of the New Republic Era and the beginning of the New Jedi Order Era. 10 years later in the books, is near the end of the New Jedi Order series. In the end, I have figured out, I have a crap ton of Star Wars books to read... considering, I have only on book 4 of New Republic Era.... Wow that got really out of hand. Sorry for the long rant about Star Wars and my reading plans which almost never pan out.
Anyways, Wedge's Gamble feature a cast of outcasts so it fits the outcast challenge. I really doubt at this point of time I will finish all the challenges, or even three. I plan and hope to be a lot more involved for the spring challenge. =D
Christine wrote: "I read Night from the Best Books Ever list. What a powerful book."I read part of that in school. I think I moved before we finished reading the book but from what I remember of it, it was a really moving novel. I'll have to get a copy of it and finish it sometime.
Christine wrote: "I read Night from the Best Books Ever list. What a powerful book."Thanks for the update, Christine! i read Night a few years ago-i agree it's a powerful book-

I have started reading 11/22/63 :-) I think this is my kind of book because really anything with time travel and alternate realities is my kind of book. I should be able to finish by the end of the month.

Dustin Crazy little brown owl wrote: "The Hardcover copy I borrowed from the library is approx 850 pages :-)"Yeah, too big for me too borrow from the library. I'll end up buying it at a later date. =)
Rachel wrote: "so sorry about your poor kitten-glad she is okay now."I am overjoyed she is fine. Now I am super worried about her being around cords period. Its funny how one thing happens can change you. I am writing a story about what happened/fictional. Don't know if I'll share it or not. Heck I don't know if it's any good. I am using the story as therapy for my mind more than anything else.

I regret I will not be able to make my challenge requirements for the winter challenge. Congrats to everyone who did and I am looking forward to a spring challenge.

I am reading two books at the same time at the moment, The Land Beyond the Portal by J.S. Bailey, and Star Wars: The Krytos Trap by Michael A. Stackpole. Though I am going to look around my house to look for easier reads to finish a few more tasks, since I am so far behind.
Awesome! Glad to hear it. Green Eggs and Ham has always been one of my favorites since I was a child.

I hope The Giving Tree is not considered one of the best. I don't like that book. I prefer The Taking Tree (Red Cover) I do not the Giving Tree. I do not like it a box. I do not like it with a fox.
