Boy collects cans with body parts in them? [s]

How is it the only the cans he collects have body parts in them? Does he see someone abandoning them and grabs them or something?

Was this a full length novel or a short story? Horror, suspense, mystery? Was it YA, NA or adult? WHEN did you read this? How did you find it--recommended to you, you saw a review, the cover grabbed you? Where did you get it from--library, bookstore, grocers?

The book you are looking for is called Canned and it is by Alex Shearer. I read it in sixth grade. Pretty freakin' strange but not bad at all.

In Australia this book is called Tins. It is really good except I found the ending a little odd. It has a fun cover.
