book about a kid that can do what he thinks, from another planet can make stuff talk , makes friends appear outa nowhere /s

i dont remember much about the book but its about a kid from another planet hes on earth and when he was little his parents were killed he was hidden somewhere and they didnt find him hes able to do what he think also hes able to shape shift i think its in the first chapter it says he can make stuff talk ; he was talking to a cockroach while building something later on he makes some friends appear i think it was 3 and later on in the book he returns to his home planet and finds out his friends were killed in a explosion or meteor crash. he gets attacked by this monster after he finds out about his friends and he shapeshifts into a small bug gets inside his head and turns into a whale or something . and at the end of the book he helps this waitress clean up a mess at supersonic speed.
