SOLVED: Adult Fiction > SOLVED. Classic, part of a small series of titles with similar philosophical themes, about a man who is visited at night (I think) by muses who show him the mysteries of the universe. [s]

Evie (ocarina) | 30 comments Alright, I remember having this neat little Penguin edition, which I'm fairly certain was white and blue and part of a small series of titles with similar philosophical themes, about a man who is visited at night (I think) by muses who show him the mysteries of the universe.

It's definitely a classic work. I think it might have been part of the Great Ideas series, but I'm not sure.

Edit: Doesn't seem to be part of that series after all. I remember now there were illustrations inside of classical women. But I do remember the display the book came from, and it was part of a line of books. Maybe it wasn't Penguin after all?

Evie (ocarina) | 30 comments Hm, no, sorry. Nothing that I remember there. ]: I remember there were definitely women figures relating philosophy and science. I've edited my main post to reflect what I remember now that I've thought on it more.

Edit: I want to say it's The Consolation of Philosophy by Ancius Boethius, but I'm not entirely sure.

Evie (ocarina) | 30 comments Wait! I think it was The Book of the City of Ladies by Christine de Pizan! I was a little off there, but I think that's it!
