Task 5.4 is a cover task, so your post must include the cover.

Please do not repost the other tasks in your post - those points have been recorded.

Please check your totals. I showed you with 615 points after your last post. This post has 70 points in it, which would give you a total of 685.

No need to repost. If your records, after double checking, show you with 695 points, let me know.

Sorry, but Mary Miller is not a Goodreads author. Please decrease your GRA tickets by 1.

MiA (mirhershelf) | 117 comments Hello,
I've revised my GRA and BB tickets in the challenge's readerboard and found that they don't match the records I keep for myself.

In post #949 I had 2 GRA's and One BB ticket, but I've added two more GRA's in post #1285 & #1470. I also added One BB ticket in post #1285.

My total GRA's should be 4 instead of 2 and my total BB tickets should be 2 instead of 1.

Hi Marwa,

OK, I've looked into this and here are a few things to keep in mind:

When you bury the fact that an author is a GRA in a string of words such as "I read عزازيل/Azazeel by GRA يوسف زيدان*/ Youssef Ziedan which was added to my To-Read list on December 16th, 2012," it's very hard for the moderator who is tracking GRA and BB to pick it up. We aren't looking at every single book like the moderator who is taking care of the ReaderBoard. We're basically just scanning the posts looking for the words Goodreads author and or Big Book.

It's much easier for us if you break it out like this:
I read عزازيل/Azazeel by يوسف زيدان*/ Youssef Ziedan which was added to my To-Read list on December 16th, 2012.

***يوسف زيدان/Youssef Ziedan is a GRA***

The bold-face type and asterisks help tremendously.

Also, the rules for GRA and BB tickets state that you must specifically say in your post that you are claiming a Big Book ticket rather than just listing +500 pages. Not everyone tracks BB tickets and if you don't specifically say you want one, I just assume the page numbers are for informational purposes.

The other problem with the BB you're claiming in post 1285 is that the copy of the book that you've linked to only has 385 pages and is, therefore, not eligible for a BB ticket. If you actually read a copy that is over 500 pages, please post a NEW post in the completed task thread linking to the correct version. Keep in mind that reposts for GRA tickets and/or BB tickets should clearly state that the post is only to claim tickets, not for new points, and should contain the number of the original post, the task numbers you claimed the books for, and links to the books.

I did go back and pick up the GRA tickets in post 1285 and 1470, so no need to repost those.

MiA (mirhershelf) | 117 comments Hi Kristi,

Thanks a lot for the information you gave me. It totally skipped my mind to format my posts in a way that facilitates things for the moderators. You guys are doing a great job tracking our progress. So, I'll keep that in mind in my upcoming posts. I'll repost for the BB ticket, linking it to the correct book edition I've read. Thanks again.

Sandi Barnes | 549 comments I'm about to post two more tasks for credit but wanted to inquire about my last post before I do.

The Readerboard indicates updated through post 1950 but does not reflect the 85 points I claimed in post 1858. The problem thread indicates an issue w/post 1857 and then skips to post 1866.

I would hazard a guess that the points were recorded but not updated to the readerboard, but just wanted to confirm no issues with the post and that I do indeed have 200 points to date. Thanks !!

Actually, it looks like I skipped over that post..... I'll use the weather as my excuse. We're not supposed to get all this weather in Richmond! I have fixed the problem, you do indeed have 200 points to date, and the correct total will show up in the next update.

Thanks for your understanding, Marwa.

Unfortunatly, the book you've linked to in post 1971 is the same 387 page edition you linked to earlier. To find a specific edition of a book, I've found it easiest to to first find the edition I've read by going to its main page, then I copy the ISBN (you can find it under the book's description), and paste the ISBN into the add book/author box. You can click on the book's title in the add book/author box to check if it's the one you want.

Hope that helps!

Thanks, Jim. It looks as if you're trying to post for the same task twice - you can only do each task once for points. So, please move one of these books to a different task.

Reposts must include complete information - So, you need to indicate the book as well, so that I can verify it for the task. Treat it like a brand new post, not a supplement to the old post.

Also, as I said in the previous message, you can only claim points for a task once.

Task 25.9, option 1, requires that the author be a Goodreads Author, as well as being new to you. Maureen Ash is not noted as being a GRA.

Task 30.2, option A, requires that both Science Fiction and Fantasy be listed as genres. Fablehaven only lists Fantasy as a genre. If this was previously approved as having both genres present, please repost including a link to the approval post.

Maybe I'm interpreting Task 30.2 Option A incorrectly but this is what the task says: The genres may appear either separately or together as "Science Fiction Fantasy" but must appear as stand-alone genres without nested sub-genres.

Task 25.9, option 1, requires that you "read a book by a Goodreads Author whom you have never read before." It's hard to tell from your post that this is in fact the first book you've read by Lisa Kleypas, since it's number 2 in the series and you also posted for number 1 in the series. Please verify that It Happened One Autumn was the first book you read by this author.

It Happened One Autumn was, indeed, the first book I read. I put both on hold at my library and Autumn came in before the first one. I read reviews saying that they didn't have to be read in order so I decided to read the 2nd one first while I waited for Secrets of a Summer night to come in. Sorry for the confusion!

The TBR alternative is for people who completed all the 10,15, and 20 point tasks in the summer and fall challenges.

As a new player, you need to pick one of those tasks to complete. I'm sure if you look through them, you will find one that fits this book.

For 25.10, you used the ebook Lone. Although it shows as having a paperback edition, the listing includes no page number information for the paperback, so it cannot be used to verify the number of pages. If you have the necessary info, please ask a librarian to correct the entry so that the paperback shows a page count, then repost the task.

Please do not repost the other tasks in this post - those points have been recorded.

Task 50.1, option 6, requires that a main character be a geek, nerd or genius. I don't see anything in the book description of Death du Jour indicating that Temperance Brennan is a genius - being a professor/anthropologist doesn't necessarily make one a genius. that is where you look, but it wasn't there when I checked your post. You'll note that it's the bottom genre with a fair gap in numbers shelving it between that genre and the one above it, and GR has been really strange with the genres coming and going. That's why we're letting people "lock in" genres in the HTs and in the genre verification thread.

It's there right now, so I'm going to go ahead and give you the points for it. But, in general, if a genre for a book you plan to read is at the bottom of the genre listings when you pick it, you may want to have it noted in one of the threads, to avoid this happening again.

ETA: I just saw that you've used the book for a different task, so I'll leave it alone.
