Hi everybody! I'm new to goodreads, so the first thing I did is look for a Phantom of the Opera group! I've seen the 2004 movie, a broadcasting of the 25th anniversary celebration, read Leroux's original novel, "Chanson de l'Ange" by Paisley Swan Stewart, and (best of all!) "Phantom" by Susan Kay. Looking forward to finding more POTO retellings and discussing them on this group!
Hi Sara! Welcome to the group! The ladies here are amazing and are always sharing their insights, their love and new discoveries of Phantom. It sounds like you'll fit right in!
Welcome to the group Sara! You've come to the right place if your a POTO fan:) We have talented authors here..aspiring authors as well..lots of great discussions about everything POTO..looking forward to chatting with you :)

Hiiii. (: I'm Thalia! I'm sixteen years old, and the first time I saw Phantom on the stage was when I was five; my obsession has been growing ever since. <3 I recently got back into Phantom again, and really, it's the only thing I can talk about, so I searched for some groups where I wouldn't feel so lame rambling on and on about it. (:Hello!

I downloaded a free copy of Leroux'POTO when I got my Kindle. I read it in 2004 shortly after I first saw the movie. I got it from the library and don't remember who translated it. After I saw some of the above posts, i went to my Kindle and checked it. It does not list any translator.Does that mean it might be deMattos? I loved he one I read from the library, but I wanted to have a copy to keep,

Anne, if your copy was free, it was most definitely the de Mattos translation. His is the only one in the public domain, alas.
I was really excited when I found this group/site! I didn't have anyone to discuss Phantom with before... My friends think I am a bit mad loving it so much!
It's great having you, Lois! Everyone at my house thinks I'm pretty crazy for loving Phantom as much as I do. If I didn't find any other fans to talk to, I'd explode!
It is a phenomenon that hits people from 10-90 I believe. It spans the whole world- Phantom Phans are everywhere.

Welcome Alexis! :)
Yes, hello Alexis. Glad to see another POTO phan. :-) Not sure I ever formerly introduced myself but I have been part of this board for about a year. Been a long-time fan of the Leroux and ALW version of Phantom of the Opera since about age 15 or 16. About to start the process of reading the Mireille Ribere translation and compare it to Leonard Wolf. I will post my thoughts on this when I finish.
Hi this is Blue Danube! Just Joined your group. I'm a HUGE POTO Phan. :) Hope you guys accept me into your group!!
