Finished. Review on home page. Loved the characters and really felt emotionally connected to Cath. I did, by the end, find the excerpts from Simon Snow/fan fiction irritating. Not sure I like the characters enough to read Carry On.

Chapter 18: (view spoiler)[ I can't believe Nick did that to her! She helped him and in my opinion, came up with the majority of the dialogue and moved his story along. To use that story as his own, even though she didn't care about it, is just wrong. That said, she should definitely work on her story and be a little more responsible since she got permission to be in the class in the first place. (hide spoiler)]

Finished: I thought this was a really cute book and enjoyed the characters. I liked getting to know more about Wren and seeing their relationship. (view spoiler)[I'm so glad Cath took advantage of her second chance and wrote the story, and I'm happy it won an award. I was still bugged by the similarities of the Simon Snow books to Harry Potter, but they were still a bit different. I also really like her relationship with Levi; they're really good together. I'm glad how it ended. (hide spoiler)] Going to have to check out some more Rowel books.

I feel bad for Cath, since it isn't really her fault that for some reason Wren is distancing herself. I also think what Nick is doing by submitting the work they did together is wrong. If he planned on submitting it I feel like he should've at least told Cath what he was going to do. I think he was being rude by acting like she had no reason to be upset. Maybe it wasn't her idea but it was a project they were doing together. (hide spoiler)]

Yah you do get a lot of her "trying" new things and freaking out about some things. It bothered me the first time and this time as well. I get that you do have home bodies and college is the first time they are out there, but still, you're a grown adult and she acts like a kid in some spots.

(view spoiler)[ Still a very cute book. i do get annoyed with the MC, what i really would love if we got a book from her twin's POV, she seems more me than the MC we got, she's too shy and homie and dare i say boring. Love interest were nicely written, a very slow burn, me likely those. The way her roommate deals with her "stealing" the boy, i want to think there are some girls out there who would have acted just like her, but i doubt it, so that scene kinda always bothers me. Overall, a cute read, if you skip the fanfic stuff ;) (hide spoiler)]

To each their own, haha, if you like books with another "book" inside, try Afterworlds, it is set up that way as well, but i was a lot more interested in both stories for that book vs just the main one here.
