So I ended reading 10 Goodreads authors and it was a total of 17 books. I did not understood well how it was really counted in this challenge, but i can say for sure that the challenge has been completed!

THE GOODREADS - NEW TO ME AUTHORS CHALLENGE Duration: January 1 - December 31, 2014 I'm just going to list the authors that are new to me = 41 The idea is to read books by Goodreads authors. These authors have invested in the Goodreads community just as you have.
The authors you read don't need to be new to you; however, we encourage you to go outside of your comfort zone a bit to discover new authors right here.

I was just going back to this thread to make sure I had updated my completion status back in March and only just saw your question now, Sydney...9 months later! Sorry! I wish that there were a way to be notified when a group member posts a question directed specifically at another member in these threads!
To answer your question, I thought the Maze Runner series were...entertaining enough, but I was very unimpressed with the writing and at times very irritated with the characters in the story. Both The Maze Runner and The Scorch Trials used some cheap and sometimes uninspired plot 'twists' to create suspense, making these books major page turners. I finished each of them in less than a day - not because I was so blown away by how incredible the story was - but because I just wanted to friggin finally find out what was happening to these kids and know what was going on.
Overall I gave them a generous 3 stars - maybe deserved 2.5. Easy read, very popular with much younger male readers - like 5th to 8th grade-ish - which makes sense if you read it. Older readers will tend to find it poorly written, and female readers may be turned off by the glaring absence of strong female characters.
Although I finished the first two books in the Maze Runner Trilogy, I just haven't had any real interest or desire to grab a copy and read the third and final book in the story, The Death Cure - maybe I'll get around to it relatively soon just for completion's sake. ^^
