SOLVED. Christian Historical Fiction girl gets shot and loses memory [s]

I read this series when I was younger but I can't remember the author or title. It's about a girl and her brother. They are traveling on a wagon train and their mother dies. They go to live with their Uncle Drummond, Drum for short. Later on in the series the girl gets shot and loses her memory. She falls for the man taking care of her and then she almost becomes a nun. One of the book covers had a palemino horse on it. I think there were 5-6 books. Her name might have been Clara but I'm not positive. Thank you in advance!
