Nick was a surprise a little. I knew he had an ulterior motive, but I didn't know why. I don't get how he liked her in such a short span of time. I understand that her confidence and intelligence have others trusting her and flocking to her however I didn't see where his affections came from. The love triangle that is sure to come out of this is slightly annoying, but it wasn't a main focus here so maybe I'll get excited about it later if I feel true emotion from the love interests. Okay, so I'm reading this on my kindle and the kindle has weird pages but I'm guessing.

I forgot how specific Ally Carter's writing style was. I fell in love with her other series as a teen growing up but I like this too!

It irks me that we don't know Hale's name. Also, I can see how close they used to be. I think he holds a grudge that she left him instead of leaving 'that world.'

I feel bad she was kind of pulled into this against her will.

I know!!! The ending when she left him there in the museum was so gratifying for me. I can't believe it!

Overall I totally loved it. I'm definitely biased though because she's in my top 5 favorite authors. I think the protagonist, Kat, is kind of mysterious still so I'm definitely interested in finishing the series.

I think I have some emotional investment in Kat but I'm not in love with the whole Nick + Hale thing. I'm leaning towards Hale, obviously, because Nick is butthead. I think I'm just more of a Kat fan than either one else. I do like how the relationships were built with everyone else in their little group.

Chapter 8: (view spoiler)[ I'm not really liking this so far. To me, the writing seems quite childish. I think this book as a whole is irritating me more than it should because my ecopy has no paragraphs so it's all one wall of text, some of the words are messed up, and the page numbers of the actual book are in the ecopy text. I'm still able to read it but I don't think I'm enjoying it as much as I would if I could read it properly. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 18: (view spoiler)[ I'm probably going to end up rating this a 2 or a 3. I don't like the writing but the story is okay. I like how it has an air of mystery. I don't think it's overly boring but it also isn't very exciting. Hopefully in the second half of the book there's a lot more excitement. I thought Katerina didn't call Taccone, so why is he there? Ally Carter definitely has an unique writing style. You can tell right off the bat that this is a light, fun read and not something to take life lessons away from. And the plot is a little out there - the main heroine is a teenager thief (like a teenage version of The Italian Job). But this is a great guilty pleasure read - fun and a bit witty right off the bat.

I'm not too certain about Hale's character at the start. On one hand, he acts like a spoiled rich kid by (view spoiler)[framing Kat and getting her expelled. On the other hand, he had a reason for needing to see her - I'm a believer of family comes first. But there still seems like there definitely could have been a better way for him to get her attention (hide spoiler)].

Chapter 28: (view spoiler)[ Looking forward to whatever stunt they're going to pull at the Henley. I'm not really sure if I like Nick or not, he seems quite fishy for lack of a better word. Hale seems jealous of Nick and he should probably just go kiss Kat or something sooner rather than later before his jealousy ruins the whole plan. I heard this book has a weird ending so I'm curious as to what it is. (hide spoiler)]
