Hi MG and Sofia, thank you for the welcome. I'm a chick lit writer. I wrote my first book to overcome dyslexia 8yrs ago now. I published it 4 yrs ago. I now love the new world I've unlocked, and have a lot of reading to catch up on! I have learnt a lot over the past few yrs about publishing and I'm currently buying back my files from author house publishing company so I can truly self publish my book "Gut Feeling" and start pricing it at a readable mark up!! I've just finished my second manuscript but not sure if I should self publish or try sending it out to agent first, or both.

I'm new to GoodReads and blogging sites so I'm a bit nervous. Id like to have a go at your group contests, thanks :)

Greetings All,

A friend told me about the group and it made me want to be here. I've been a writer since high school, though life has limited my availabilty. Hopefully being here will help me get back into it.

I read just about anything, and dabble in writing about as much. My favorites are fantasy and science fiction. I've got prolly about 5 different efforts underway, with ideas on countless more. Will probably be in the group stories. I also GM for Role Playing Games, which is a type of writing in and of itself.

Hi y'all, I'm Jocelyn. I'm so excited to find this writing group! I've been writing since I was very young and went to school for screenwriting. My non-fiction/journalistic work has been published in newspapers, magazines and websites, and I'm finally getting back into writing fiction. I just completed my first NaNo (writing a suspense/mystery novel) and won! Now I'm really focused on finding some awesome people to critique my work and chat with about writing. I'd love to find a great critique partner, too.

I can't wait to get to know you all!

I've GM'd for D&D (3.5, 2.0), Champions, Heroes unlimited, Spycraft. I create my own worlds, and I've used Kalamar, Greyhawk and some Forgotten Realms.

In like vein, Tolkein is one of my favorite authors, I've also read the Drizzt stories, Sword of Truth, Robert Jordan, Stephen Lawhead (one of the best authors I know of).

I can probably help you with that - I am very critical. : )
Fortunately, I'm also an editor, so my critiques are designed to be helpful in nature.
Welcome to the group, and I hope you participate in some of our events - there's a writing contest going on right now which you (and everyone else) is welcome to join. We've also got several group stories going, with room for more. So dive on in!

Home-made worlds are always the best I think - at least, they are when you've got the right GM. But if that's the sort of thing you enjoy, then you'll probably like our group stories - I'm getting a lot of my inspiration from world-building style roleplaying games.
