Carriage 3: Compartment H

Robin set her trunk down on the nearest seat, stacking Mouse's cage on top. As she was currently alone, she let her feet rest on a seat across from hers and pulled a novel from the pocket of her jacket. She may as well do something while she waited for some company.

The two seven year Gryffindors searched the corridor of their compartment for something to do, finding nothing of amusement, they proceeded to Carriage 4. Brendan poked his head in compartments, searching for people, and seeing one, he called out in a cheerful tone, "Hello, Luv. Mind if we join you?" he queried even as he and Casey made their way inside to sit down on the other bench without waiting for a reply.

They looked very slightly familiar, but only from the hallways, she guessed; these two were obviously older than she was, and Robin was certain they weren't in Ravenclaw.

"Casey," the girl added in turn.
"Nice to meet you, Robin," Brendan added. "What House are you in, Luv? I'm having a hard time placing you..." he admitted with a sheepish grin. "We're Gryffindor and Casey's the captain of our Quidditch team," he added.
Casey rolled her eyes. "You play too," she reminded him.
"Aye, but I'm only a lowly Beater," he added with a mock humble sigh.

They seemed pretty cheerful and fun, so far. She hoped they would stay awhile before getting bored...

Casey nodded, her red hair shaking slightly. "I know, it's crazy," she agreed. "So are you into Quidditch, Robin?" she asked the girl. Luna hadn't been: hopefully this Ravenclaw would be different.

"Oh, it's right grand, Luv," Brendan chimed in. "But yes, much safer to watch than to play," he agreed. "You have high hopes for your team then?" he queried. "That Alexa Wong is quite good," he admitted, speaking about the Ravenclaw Chaser who he had to beat back so often.

"D'ya know if the food cart will be passing by anytime soon?" Brendan asked to no one in particular as he leaned forward to peer out the glass portion of the compartment door.
"You just ate, silly," Casey retorted with a slight roll of her eyes.
"And I'd like to eat again," Brendan responded, wrapping one calloused hand around his friend's ankle to squeeze it until she squealed in pain for her mocking tone. Looking up at Robin as he held up his wiry arm to block an attack from Casey, he asked, "D'ya know if it's passed, Luv?"

Casey rolled her eyes, even though she couldn't help but chuckle as she shook her head and responded, "Sure."
"That cart's gotta be the best part about this whole ride," Brendan observed with a roguish wink to Robin.

"Ah, you half-bloods," Brendan teased. "I'm a full blown muggle." Although he believed this to be true, Brendan couldn't actually know for certain since he'd never met his father not did he have any clue who the man was. But he only had one parent in his mind and she was a muggle so so was he.

Of course now Casey knew better than to talk about magic at all in front of her mom and her new family. She hated reminders of her ex.

Brendan cleared his throat after a moment and then said, "Well, it looks like we're almost there! We should probably get our robes on."
"Good idea," Casey nodded, quickly standing up.
"It was nice to meet you, Luv," Brendan said to Robin with a grin. "Hope to see you around Hogwarts," he added cheerfully.

She silently shook her head and began to pull her robes out of her trunk, watching the stars begin to peek out into the sky through the window.

The eighth compartment of Carriage 3. It can seat eight, but for comfort's sake, usually seats no more than six.
