The eighth compartment of Carriage 3. It can seat eight, but for comfort's sake, usually seats no more than six.

CJ [Enter Robin Dove, from Carriage 3 Corridor, message 4]

Robin set her trunk down on the nearest seat, stacking Mouse's cage on top. As she was currently alone, she let her feet rest on a seat across from hers and pulled a novel from the pocket of her jacket. She may as well do something while she waited for some company.

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) [Enter Brendan O'Brien and Casey Diamant from Carriage 4: Compartment D, message 57.]

The two seven year Gryffindors searched the corridor of their compartment for something to do, finding nothing of amusement, they proceeded to Carriage 4. Brendan poked his head in compartments, searching for people, and seeing one, he called out in a cheerful tone, "Hello, Luv. Mind if we join you?" he queried even as he and Casey made their way inside to sit down on the other bench without waiting for a reply.

message 4: by CJ (new)

CJ "No, not at all," Robin replied quickly, pulling her legs back in and closing her book. She waited for a minute while they settled down across from her before extending a hand for them to shake. "My name is Robin Dove. What are yours?"

They looked very slightly familiar, but only from the hallways, she guessed; these two were obviously older than she was, and Robin was certain they weren't in Ravenclaw.

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) "I'm Brendan," the boy replied with a grin.

"Casey," the girl added in turn.

"Nice to meet you, Robin," Brendan added. "What House are you in, Luv? I'm having a hard time placing you..." he admitted with a sheepish grin. "We're Gryffindor and Casey's the captain of our Quidditch team," he added.

Casey rolled her eyes. "You play too," she reminded him.

"Aye, but I'm only a lowly Beater," he added with a mock humble sigh.

message 6: by CJ (new)

CJ "It's nice to meet you two," Robin smiled, "And I'm in Ravenclaw."

They seemed pretty cheerful and fun, so far. She hoped they would stay awhile before getting bored...

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) "Ah, I see, Ravenclaw," Brendan replied, leaning back in his bench as he clasped his hands behind his head. "So you must be really smart, is that right?" he queried with a roguish grin. "And what year are you in Miss Robin?"

message 8: by CJ (new)

CJ "I'm in my fifth year. You two are probably in your last, though, aren't you?" Robin inquired. The Quidditch captains were generally in their sixth or seventh. Brendan and Casey also seemed as though they'd known each other for a while...

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) "Aye, that we are," Brendan replied as Casey situated herself in her seat, bringing her feet up to rest on the bench even though that was probably frowned upon. "Can't believe it's gone so fast, eh, Case?" he remarked, glancing at his friend.

Casey nodded, her red hair shaking slightly. "I know, it's crazy," she agreed. "So are you into Quidditch, Robin?" she asked the girl. Luna hadn't been: hopefully this Ravenclaw would be different.

message 10: by CJ (new)

CJ "Watching from the stands is definitely fun, but I doubt I could fly a broom to save my life!" Robin laughed. After the dismal flying lessons she had taken in her first year, Robin had never even tried to pick up a broomstick. "I bet it feels nice, though."

message 11: by ๖ۣۜSαᴙαh (last edited Dec 03, 2013 08:46PM) (new)

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) Brendan chuckled as Casey's eyes widened. Imagine never flying on a broom!

"Oh, it's right grand, Luv," Brendan chimed in. "But yes, much safer to watch than to play," he agreed. "You have high hopes for your team then?" he queried. "That Alexa Wong is quite good," he admitted, speaking about the Ravenclaw Chaser who he had to beat back so often.

message 12: by CJ (new)

CJ "I do. I really think Ravenclaw has a good chance of winning, this year. From what I can tell, Kassidy will make a wonderful captain." Robin smiled a little at Casey's astonished expression.

message 13: by ๖ۣۜSαᴙαh (new)

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) "She is a good captain," Casey agreed politely, not wanting Brendan to pick a fight about who was the best captain in Hogwarts for he would loyally state her. "You have a very good team," she said kindly. She for one was so excited about Quidditch starting up again--the main thing she looked forward to in the summer was to come back to the game.

"D'ya know if the food cart will be passing by anytime soon?" Brendan asked to no one in particular as he leaned forward to peer out the glass portion of the compartment door.

"You just ate, silly," Casey retorted with a slight roll of her eyes.

"And I'd like to eat again," Brendan responded, wrapping one calloused hand around his friend's ankle to squeeze it until she squealed in pain for her mocking tone. Looking up at Robin as he held up his wiry arm to block an attack from Casey, he asked, "D'ya know if it's passed, Luv?"

message 14: by CJ (new)

CJ Robin, too, gazed through the glass. "No, it hasn't passed by, yet. It probably should, though, in the next ten minutes or so..." she answered, examining her watch.

message 15: by ๖ۣۜSαᴙαh (new)

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) "Excellent," Brendan replied, rummaging through his pockets for money. "You got some on ya?" he asked Casey, nodding in her direction.

Casey rolled her eyes, even though she couldn't help but chuckle as she shook her head and responded, "Sure."

"That cart's gotta be the best part about this whole ride," Brendan observed with a roguish wink to Robin.

message 16: by CJ (new)

CJ Robin giggled a little, but not really towards Brendan's comment. Casey's expressions around him were just too funny. "Sure it is..." Robin agreed just to agree; she really thought the best part of the ride was the mere excitement of what was to come when the train came to a stop.

message 17: by ๖ۣۜSαᴙαh (new)

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) Brendan's grin widened for a moment as he thought about what he was going to purchase when the cart passed and when Casey realized that he had dropped the conversation, she cleared her throat and turning to Robin, asked, "So, what are you reading?" not enjoying awkward silences and since they had barged in on this poor girl, it was their responsibility to make her feel comfortable with their presence. "Don't tell me you're studying already," Casey added with a small laugh.

message 18: by CJ (new)

CJ "Not yet!" Robin laughed, "It's just a muggle story called 'Pride and Prejudice'... My dad gave it to me last Christmas. I'm a half-blood, you see, so anything magical comes from Mum."

message 19: by ๖ۣۜSαᴙαh (new)

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) "Oh, me too," Casey replied with a smile. "But for me, it's my dad who's the wizard."

"Ah, you half-bloods," Brendan teased. "I'm a full blown muggle." Although he believed this to be true, Brendan couldn't actually know for certain since he'd never met his father not did he have any clue who the man was. But he only had one parent in his mind and she was a muggle so so was he.

message 20: by CJ (new)

CJ "Well that's nice to know! We appear to be in similar boats, then," Robin addressed Casey after laughing a little at Brendan's comment, "Does your mother act really excited around magical things? Because Dad does..."

message 21: by ๖ۣۜSαᴙαh (new)

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) "Um... yeah, I think so," Casey replied awkwardly. "At least from what I remember from when I was really young," she finished somewhat lamely, glancing at the ground.

Of course now Casey knew better than to talk about magic at all in front of her mom and her new family. She hated reminders of her ex.

message 22: by CJ (new)

CJ "What happened? What's wrong?" Robin asked. She was really confused and hoped she hadn't just stepped on a delicate spot in Casey's life without meaning to.

message 23: by ๖ۣۜSαᴙαh (new)

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) "Oh, uh, it's nothing," Casey replied. "Just... my parents are divorced," she ended somewhat awkwardly with a small shrug. "No big deal," she said in an attempt to make light of the situation as they descended into an awkward silence.

Brendan cleared his throat after a moment and then said, "Well, it looks like we're almost there! We should probably get our robes on."

"Good idea," Casey nodded, quickly standing up.

"It was nice to meet you, Luv," Brendan said to Robin with a grin. "Hope to see you around Hogwarts," he added cheerfully.

message 24: by CJ (new)

CJ "See you," Robin smiled. She vaguely wondered whether Brendan called everybody "Luv", because it would definitely seem a little awkward for her.

She silently shook her head and began to pull her robes out of her trunk, watching the stars begin to peek out into the sky through the window.

message 25: by ๖ۣۜSαᴙαh (last edited Jan 01, 2014 12:30PM) (new)

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) "Bye, Robin," Casey said with a small wave as she followed her friend out of the compartment and back to the one with their stuff to get dressed for their arrival at Hogwarts.
