Andréa (fernandie) | 152 comments There are a number of Kindle books by the publishing group Big Red Balloon. None of the books (that I've seen) list an individual author anywhere in or on the book or on Amazon; they're all just credited to "Big Red Balloon."

However, Stubborn Hound Dog is listed on Goodreads with the author Marcus Leon. I've scoured my copy of the book and can find no mention anywhere of a specific author other than "Big Red Balloon." I thought maybe Marcus Leon was a Goodreads author who knew he was the ghostwriter behind the book and therefore credited himself, but that doesn't appear to be the case either.

Should I switch the author to "Big Red Balloon"? I'm wary to make such a big change to data someone else input, especially since there must be a real human author of the book somewhere and I have no way of knowing that "Marcus Leon" isn't that ghostwriter.

Advice?

Andréa (fernandie) | 152 comments PS: Here's Big Red Balloon's listing for the book on their site -- http://bigredballoonbooks.com/stubbor.... It doesn't list any individual author either.

Z-squared | 8575 comments If you look through the edit log for Stubborn Hound Dog, you can see that there is a user responsible for the author name (I won't post it here, because posting user names in a discussion is generally frowned upon, I think). You could try messaging that librarian and see why he added that name instead of Big Red Balloon.

I don't know why I didn't think of that! Thanks.

Banjomike | 5166 comments If Marcus Leon IS the author of the book then I think we would we add him as secondary author with Big Red Balloon as primary. There are references around the web that sort of suggest he is the ghostwriter of that book. Maybe.

I'm waiting for a response from the user who listed "Marcus Leon" as the author. If I don't hear back from him, I'll just add Big Red Balloon as the primary but leave Marcus Leon on there as well.

Personally, I wish Big Red Balloon and other such publishers would list their authors somewhere, at least, but that's a whole other issue.
