I feel like this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find the answer I was looking for by doing a quick search. Has anyone ran across, or made their own list, that sorts by author's nationality or setting?

Thanks!

Maeve (mepwave) | 21 comments I would also be interested in this list! I would love to add some geographic diversity as well as temporal diversity to how I choose the next book to read.

Elizabeth (Alaska) This group has country bookshelves which should help.

Maeve (mepwave) | 21 comments That is totally helpful! I had forgotten about that.

Wendy (wendyneedsbooks) | 154 comments Oh thanks, I had no idea that existed, and I'm frequently trying to find books based on setting, etc. But it doesn't seem to be quite complete. For example, I just looked at the group shelf tagged "mexico" and it only had 8 entries. Neither Under the Volcano nor The Power and the Glory were on it. Maybe because the authors are not of that country? Is there a way to suggest country setting shelves?

I believe that the books are sorted by the countries the authors are from.

A different GR group has a topic sorting them by the country they are set in. It's not always correct but it gives a pretty good overview: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
