Please pick my books from this shelfhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
I don't know how to shorten the link, sorry.
Hi Karen, Here are your picks:
by Karin Slaughter - I really enjoy her writing style but it can be gruesome.
by Douglas Preston. I haven't read this one but I like the title.
by Derek Landy - Highest rated on your shelf. Hope you enjoy!
My choices for Karen:
Wool - Wonderful!, 5 stars
The Likeness - Really good, 4 stars
A is for Alibi - a fun series - if you haven't tried it, you should.
for theme: Winter Wonderland - Christmas, tree & snow

My choices for Lauren:
Wow! You have no books I've read or marked TBR on that shelf! So I'm pretty much choosing in the dark.
Kiss of Steel. I'm curious how you like it, and whether I should consider it.
Fatal Justice - seems somewhat different from most of the others on your list. And, while I don't usually read romances, this series looks like it could be good.
theme: Whiskey Beach - Australia Day, beach

Thanks, Fairlee.
I don't think it changes anything, but apparently there are two books named "The God Box." The one on my TBR is The God Box. Your link pointed to a different one, but I'll just go with the one on my list, right?

Looks like I'll definitely be reading some mysteries these month. Nice for in front of a warm fire.

Great coincidence, Lauren: two of your choices (The Passage and Snow Crash) are books I need to read for other challenges, so I already have them checked out or reserved. I might just start with those right away. And Fairlee also picked Snow Crash, but that's fine with me; I have plenty of books to choose from, and will definitely try to include that one.
Also, 4 of Fairlee's and Lauren's picks are ones I have on my Nook. so I'll just carry that with me when I visit my kids later this month, and read whichever of the 4 moves me at the time. I don't read as much when I'm there as I do at home, but I always get to do at least a little bit at bedtime.

Finished my first book -
. 4 Stars. The world building and characterization are highly entertaining as usual.
Finished my second book, Not The End Of The World. I'd forgotten this was one of the books picked for me.
I finished The Passage. Still working on The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes, one story at a time. And Murder at the Vicarage fits into my scattershelves plan, so it'll be a January book.
Finished my 2nd book on Dec 25th -
. 4 Stars. A solid thriller with a suitably evil villain but the romance element is not as good as the previous books.
I've finished my third and fourth books, The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes and Murder at the Vicarage. Cozy mysteries are nice when it's cold and snowing. Now I need to catch up on my reviews!
