As of now we have Php 6,500 pledged for our relief drive, plus some goods. :) Thank you so much. :)

Can I still donate after Saturday?
Yes, if we don't reach the 10,000 amount we need to raise for the relief goods we will get from the supplier. If we do, we can still accept donations, although only cash donations because we don't have storage for the supplies. BUT since we do not have any plans after this just yet, I would advise that you send your donations to Red Cross or other relief groups.
Will we have another run of this after Saturday?
We are thinking of another project so we can help as a book club, and we will probably talk about it more on Saturday. If you have ideas, feel free to join us then, or post your ideas here. :)

As of 1:00pm today, we have Php13,500 in pledges. That is more than enough to cover the food items we ordered from the suppliers. Here's what we have so far:
288 pcs. Summit Water 500ml @ 10.50 = 3,024.00
24 pcs. Summit Water 500ml = Free (you get one box free for every 10 boxes)
300 pcs. Skyflakes Crackers @ 4.09 = 1,228.42
600 pcs. Mega Sardines in Tomato Sauce (easy-open top) @ 14.00 = 8,400.00
Total = 12,562.42
Right now we are trying to raise (at least) an additional 3,200 so we can add the following meds for our donation:
Metronidazole 500mg (Ritemed) - 9.00 each
Loperamide (Ritemed) - 4.75 each
Can we do this? It's just a little more, and these meds will help in ensuring the health of the survivors.
Once again, thank you so much for your generosity. :)

P.S. one more! Please note that the meeting place tomorrow is at the Pioneer Centre Supermart and not at Robinson's Pioneer. Pioneer Centre Supermart is just across Bayanihan Center (aka Unilab).
Commute directions: Ride the MRT to Boni station, go to Robinson's Pioneer and then ride the tricycle to Bayanihan Center. It's that place that has Chowking in front. Chatime is at the side, past the supermarket. :)
See you then. :)

Update! We have collected a total of Php 21,500 in cash donations. Thank you!
Last Saturday, we donated 300 bottles of mineral water, 300 pcs Skyflakes crackers, 600 cans of sardines and some clothes to the Iloilo Relief Operations located in New Manila, Quezon City. We were able to talk to them for a bit and we found out that their families were affected by Yolanda because they were in Northern Iloilo. (I have a photo of the boxes of donations and the acknowledgment receipt but for some reason I can't upload the photos so I'll upload it when I get home to attach it here. :D)
Right now we have around Php 8,900 remaining in cash donations, and we have decided to donate the cash to Philippine Red Cross. I'll post the screenshot of the donation as soon as the last of the pledges come in by tomorrow so I can make one big deposit to Red Cross. :)
Thank you also to everyone who were there last Saturday: Ronnie, Angus, Ella, Aenna, Cary, Aaron, JL and Beejay. :)
To all donors, thank you so much for your generosity. What we did may just be a drop in the bucket, sure, but I'm sure it helped some families feel less hungry for a while, and right now that's already a big thing. :)
I hope that we still find ways to help (and yes, we're planning some other things to help out as a group again) even when things seem to be dying down and we are starting to go back to normal. I hope we don't forget, and I hope we keep on helping even in the smallest ways, and I hope that nothing ever silences our love for everyone who needs our help. :)
Thank you so much, TFG. ♥

As we all know, Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda hit the Philippines last week, leaving heavy damage to Visayas. You don't have to look too far to see the devastation because it's practically in all the news, and I know we have some TFG members (active and inactive) who were affected.
I know some of us have already donated to several organizations, and it's already a very good thing. But if you feel that it's not enough, or if you still want to help out, we decided to form a little donation drive for TFG members, to centralize whatever you guys want to donate and we can give it as a group. So if you want to do more, or if you want to start doing something but you don't know where to start, we hope to help you out on that one.
So this is a call for donations. We are planning to deliver 300 packs of relief goods to the Iloilo Relief Operation on Saturday, November 16. Miss Ronnie already has contact with a supplier, where we can buy goods in bulk, and we need to raise Php 10,000 for a simple relief pack with ready to eat food and water for 300 people. We know it's a drop in the ocean, but every help counts, right?
We will be meeting up on Saturday, November 16 4:00-7:00pm, Chatime Pioneer Center. Saturday is Komikon day, so if you're around the area, Chatime is right across, and we'll save a table there so we can meet up and collect donations.
If you want to donate cash:
You can fill out this form with the amount you want to donate, and you can either:
a. Give it during the meet-up on Saturday, November 16
b. Deposit it in the account that we will email/PM you.
Rest assured that we will keep everyone updated with the amount we receive and we will make sure ever single centavo is accounted for. Any amount will help!
For pledges in kind:
If you want to donate goods, you can, too! Based on research and various accounts of other relief groups, this is what they need:
* Blankets, towels, mats (still usable)
* Water purification tablets
* Matches, candles
* Medicine/first aid (For flu/fever, diarrhea, betadine, gauze/bandages, antibiotics - amoxicillin)
* Hygiene kits (soap, toothbrush, sanitary napkins)
* Ready to eat food (food that doesn't require water for cooking/preparation -- bread, crackers, canned goods with easy open tabs)
If you decide to pledge in kind, you can also fill out the form. Please list the items you will donate so we know the quantity, and kindly bring it on Saturday, too.
We will also keep everyone updated with all the goods we receive in this thread.

This is entirely voluntary, and this is just a way for our book club to give help. We would appreciate every little help we can get. If you can't donate, it's okay, but we do hope you can still find a way to help out in other ways. No one is ever too poor not to give anything, or to powerless not to do anything. :)
