oh I thought we read this one already, wasn't there a spot for this? maybe not since I didn't see it for awhile. I enjoyed this book. I had a little trouble getting into at first, as I'm not a huge cyborg type fan. However as the character s developed I started to really enjoy the characters. I love the Cinderella references and yet it stayed away from it enough that it made it its own story. I'm not sure about going into book two, as I loved Cinder right to the end and wanted to learn more. I read the first two pages of the second book and was disappointed it didn't leave off from Cinder and started with all new characters.
We probably did it at some point but some people showed interest in reading or rereading since the author is joining us soon. :)
I am waiting for my copy to get in from the library, its checked out right now. :( Hopefully it comes in soon!
I'm 23% in on the audio. It's been a LONG time since I read this the first time so forgot a lot of the details. (view spoiler)
Karen, I didn't even register that before you said it!! I'm about 22% in right now. I am enjoying it, it's a fun, quick read. (view spoiler)
Oh, I wish I had a copy!! I so want to read it again so bad!!! I barely remember parts of this story. I remember the basic plot, but its been a long while. I remember Scarlet a lot better. I do already have a copy of Scarlet from the library!
I just downloaded the first 5 chapters as a sneak peek, its free on Amazon! Maybe that will tide me over! I may end up just buying it on Kindle! ;)
I'm on chapter 21. The only thing I don't really understand is why cyborgs are treated less human than full humans. Weren't cyborgs fully human at one point? I guess this just kind of confuses me and I haven't seen any reason on why this may be the case. (view spoiler)
Here was my final review. I enjoyed the book but I don't know that I was in love with it. I do like the series and want to see how it continues on though. I'll probably start Scarlet today (been a busy weekend)!https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I liked Scarlet much more than Cinder. I got my copy of Cinder today from the library, going to start reading soon!
I flew through my reread, already done! Meaghan (view spoiler)
I really love the whole fairy tale aspect of this book, the world building and basic plot. The characters were not as developed as I like, but I did really like Iko. Scarlet has way better characters IMO!
I originally rated this one 4 stars, and I think I'll keep it at that!

The author will be joining our group on November 18 to answer questions so this will be a good opportunity to read this book if you haven't had the chance to read it yet (like me)!
