Week 9 - A Suitable Boy

The stresses of life begin to show in this section. The ruling on the Zamindari act, Mahesh Kapoor contemplating leaving the Congress Party, Maan's indiscretion and Pran's illness all feel like some major changes are about to occur in the next few sections. And, interesting that Kabir is back in Lata's life although compared to Haresh, he seems rather naive and still a bit wet behind the ears.

Neither just yet, although I would choose Haresh over Kabir - he's certainly a go-getter and has a great heart although hot-headed!

I just finished this section. The hardest part for me was the interaction between Kabir and his mother. I've been there with a loved one who doesn't remember who you are consistently. Who forgets all the things they used to know and attributes motives that aren't there to actions taken around them.

I find the pages turning faster and faster as I go along and I can't wait to read the next section.

Glad you're enjoying the book Alison, although it brought back sad memories for you. Hope you keep posting your reactions. I enjoyed the book a lot.
