RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I have not had coffee yet. But I want to know.

What kind of robot do you want for your house? What should said robot do?

Yay! RA is using the new category!

I'd like a butler robot, like on the Jetsons. Someone to clean up for me, cook food, greet me when I get home, but then leave me alone when it's not needed.

Félix (habitseven) I'd want one like this:

It would carry me around.

Leslie | 777 comments The robot should clean all the messes, put everything away where it belongs, have a legal counterfieting system in its innards--to keep me supplied with money, cut the grass, do yard work and chase away scary dogs, do all the home and car repairs and be my chauffer in its spare time.
Have they invented it yet?

Matthieu | 1009 comments The robot who murders Dave Eggers, Jonathan Safran Foer, Paris Hilton, Ben Affleck, and the person who kept removing my laundry from the dryer at school. It's cool, though, I spat on theirs.

The robot would, naturally, come up with a cost-feasible alternative fuel source with the bodies.

Oh, one can always dream...

Larry, thank you for clarifying that you'd want the robot to carry you around. I thought you'd want the soldier to be carried around your house for your viewing pleasure.

Félix (habitseven) Ha! No ....

Dan Schwent (akagunslinger) Does a self-cleaning bathroom count as a robot? If not, I'll take a car that transforms into a robot so I can stomp cars with it when traffic gets bad.

Laura (navywife247) | 7 comments Pretty much I want a robot to do anything I want except wipe my butt. And this includes grocery shopping. One of my most loathed outings. Wrapping gifts at birthdays and christmas. Putting up and taking down christmas and Halloween decorations. Mowing and weed eating the lawn. And much, much, more. They invent it I will buy it.

I'd be your present wrapping robot, Laura! I looooove wrapping presents.

BTW, RA: "bestest"? WTF?

message 14: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I'm engaging in much regional dialect English lately:)

message 15: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 777 comments I read somewhere about this self-cleaning house this lady made. The cabinets were all dishwashers and the closets were washers/dryers. The bathroom had fixutes kind of like a drive through car wash with a drain in the floor. I don't know if she had a way to deal with dust or carpets. Can't remember, but it sounded pretty cool.

message 16: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments That reminds me of those old "House of Tomorrow" cartoons, where there was a dishwasher, but it was a pair of robot arms that pulled the dishes out of the sink and scrubbed them and placed them in a drying rack.

Sarah | 13814 comments Thanks! But where's my robot dishwasher? I swear I remember it.

message 19: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Maybe there was more than one of these.

message 20: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Oh, those house/car of tomorrow cartoons ROCKED.

message 21: by Usako (new)

Usako (bbmeltdown) The robot I want was the "butler" in Benchwarmers.

message 22: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I always like R. Daneel Olivaw from the Asimov Robot series of books. He would be my bestest robot. No question.
