Snow Crash : clocking in and preparation

Work hasn't allowed me to plug into GR at all for quite some time but please count me in for these. I think I met my goal of reads for the year but have not reviewed, rated or discussed much for several months.

I read Snow Crash but I'll do it again; I loved it. What a fun ride it was. I also read American Gods but I'll happily read that one again also. It's one of NG's that, for me anyway, probably needs at least a second read just to get it all.

I saw Deathless in the mix, which I had not read. I thought I'd try it on for size especially since it looked like Nataliya was possibly facilitating and it was the perfect one for her. Wow, I started it yesterday and couldn't put it down. I finished it today. I was blown away by its beauty.

So for what it's worth, I will definitely be watching what you all have to say about that collection. I don't know how much I could/can contribute myself but I'm looking forward to learning a bunch from you.

Congratulations on the birth of your son, Joseph! 36 weeks is a bit early, but at that age they catch up quite nicely :)

I think I can do Snowcrash. Waiting for the library book or I might just buy it. I would like to reread it.

Also, btw, Diamond Age was very good. Without reading all his books yet I'm guessing Snowcrash was his best and Diamond Age was second best.

Lit Bug who seems to have disappeared from the face of Goodreads mentioned that she had it on her reading list for the thesis she is doing about the Cyberpunk genre.

So yeah, it seems to be a highly regarded book.

Okay people, I started a first spoiler thread, but I'm making it for a very short section just so we can get in and get our feet wet. It's for up to end of Chapter 10 which is on p.78 in my book, though I haven't actually had time to read up to there myself.

Lit Bug's still around. She had a question about one of the books I read towards the end of the year, but she's definitely into finish-the-thesis mode!
