This book gradually grows suspense by having the survivors tell stories that will make you wonder when the next attack will come or if you will live. For example: One survivor told a story of how she crashed a plane in the forest, and she was alone,she wanders in the forest getting surprised and chased by giant herds of zombies that nearly kill her, when she just barely makes it to the rescue helicopter to be saved.
