"You mean you never touch guys? Not at all? Like not even as friends?" Fiona found this odd. Maybe it had to do with her powers.
~*~*~*~*~*~
"Alright," Seamus said, shrugging. "No apology necessary." He gave her a friendly smile. She was cute, but surely there would be other cute girls around eventually. He would just have to remember not to flirt with this particular girl. At least, not much.

Fiona let go of Seamus long enough to move to his other side. "Is there a reason why you don't? Like, with a story behind it? Or what? I'm just curious. You're the first girl my age I've ever met who wasn't crazy about guys. Or do you prefer girls? It's okay if you do, I mean, I'm pretty obviously into guys so it's not like you'd try anything, right?"
~*~*~*~*~*~
Seamus moved over to let Fiona walk between him and Samantha. He groaned as she kept talking, digging herself deeper and deeper into a hole. "Fi, shut up," he whispered. He just smiled when she glared at him.

"It doesn't matter." Sam stated. "And no, I'm not into girls like that." She rolled her eyes. "You jump to conclusions pretty quickly." She looked up at Fiona. "Yes, I'm into guys, but not enough for me to be looking up and smiling every single time I see them."
((It's fine. I've been slow with replies lately too.))
Seamus laughed. "Yes, she does. All the time. It's a bad habit of hers.
"Good on you for calling her on it. A lot of people wouldn't."
~*~*~*~*~*~
"Sorry," Fiona muttered, her cheeks heating in embarrassment. "I try not to do it, but it's just part of my nature. I also have trouble keeping my mouth shut. I have a bad tendency to speak before I think, as you may have noticed.
"I don't do that look up and smile thing do I? I guess I do with some guys. Jasper at least. But there's a good reason for that. He's my soul mate."
~*~*~*~*~*~
Seamus's jaw dropped. How did she know that? And how long had she known? And why hadn't she told him?
Seamus laughed. "Yes, she does. All the time. It's a bad habit of hers.

"We're always like this," Fiona said.
"Almost always," Seamus answered at the same time. "Likely because we're twins. Most siblings aren't nearly as close as we are. But we've been through a lot in the past several years. We've had to stick together."
"Yeah. Damned Uncle Bradley," Fiona muttered.
"Him. But that came after we lost Mum and Dad."
"Barely. Stupid lawyers deciding He should be our guardian just because he was Dad's brother. He'd been disinherited for crying out loud! Ugh."
"Yeah. Let's not think about him anymore." A brief pause as Seamus looks down. "Your hands are smoking, Fi."
"Shit." Fiona pulled her hands out of her pockets. A small glove of pure flame coated each one. She blinked and they went out. Half a second later, they were back. "Talk about something else. Anything else. I need to get my mind off... you-know-who."
Seamus nodded. "So, Samantha, tell me about yourself." He hoped she would understand the need to distract Fiona. Things could get very bad very quickly otherwise.

Seamus noticed Sam's avoidance of his request, but wisely didn't say anything about it. Okay, so she doesn't like to talk about herself. I'll have to remember that. Too bad that will just make Fiona even more curious about her.
"No other siblings, no. It's just the two of us."
"Red," Fiona said. "Red is my favorite color. The orange-red of fire specifically." She pulled her hands out of her pockets and allowed fire to surround them once more, demonstrating the color she liked best. This time when she extinguished them, they stayed out. "Blue is Seamus's favorite color. At least it used to be."
"Still is," Seamus said with a small smile. "How about you, Samantha, what's your favorite color?" That's not too personal, so maybe she'll answer that question at least. Sate Fi's curiosity for a bit. Hopefully.
They were nearly to the student center when the double doors opened themselves. Very shortly afterwards, a girl walked out followed closely by a boy and a gargoyle carrying a second boy.
~*~*~*~*~*~
Kareena summoned a small gust of wind as they neared the doors of the student center, opening them a split second before they reached them. She stepped out into the courtyard, followed by the others. She smiled and nodded to the two girls and one boy ((Fiona, Samantha, and Seamus as mentioned above.)) they passed walking the other way.
Once they were by, she slowed and took a look around the courtyard. It didn't take long to find her dorm. There were two tall buildings nearby, each with a statue in front of it: one statue was of a dragon, the other a unicorn. "Unicorn Dorm, room 202," she whispered to herself as a reminder, then headed towards it.

Haemities followed the two easily. he felt the incubus's power slide over him, being made of stone made it nearly impossible for him to feel lust of any kind, and stayed silently. the hybrid certainly must feed a lot, perhaps their is something wrong with him? the Gargoyle decided to find out later, when he had the time.
Fiona had been smiling at the group they passed until she felt the one boy's powers wash over her. Then she glared at him. She was very glad she'd already found Jasper, so that even though she felt his power and knew its intended use, it had very little effect on her. It made her miss Jasper suddenly and want to be back in his arms right this instant, thus her glare.
~*~*~*~*~*~
Seamus felt an odd power wash over him. What was even stranger was what the power made him feel: anger and lust, but mostly anger. Later he would try to figure out the lust. He'd never been attracted to another guy before, so why now? Why this one? It was confusing. And strange. Very strange.
~*~*~*~*~*~
Kareena walked up to the dorm and pulled the door open, holding it for the gargoyle who carried her friend Garrett.
She couldn't help but smile at Alex when she saw him, lust blossoming once again. It felt odd to her, having never felt lust before today. She wanted to be held by him, kissed and caressed by him. Preferably now. But she had to be strong; Garrett needed her. Maybe once he was settled in...
Maybe he would kiss her. Maybe more, but did she want more? Yes and no. She wanted more, but they'd only just met so she also wanted to wait, to take thinks slow. She just wasn't sure she could resist if he tried for more than a kiss.

Alex drew in all the energy he could get, and didn't care if he was gentle or discreet about it either, when Kareena smiled at him. by the Powers i should have fed before coming here! he growled at himself mentally, while also shoving the incubus down farther.
Haemities nodded toward Kareena and said in his distinct voice, "thank you child." then walked on in, waiting farther so that Kareena could take the lead. he saw the hybrid male grabbed the door and elegently gesture for her to go before him, and Haemities doubted the elegence was even on purpose judging from the looks of his eyes, which had began to lighten.
((I think Fiona and Seamus are both strong enough to sense the source of the power they felt. ^_-

"See? You guys have something in common," Fiona said with a grin. They were just feet from the door of the Student Center when one boy - who smelled of the wilderness, maybe a were of some kind - nearly ran them over in his haste to get, well, wherever he was going. Just behind him, two boys carried a third out the door. The third one was huge, and sort of dragonish. He looked to be in a lot of pain. She dropped Seamus's arm and followed them.
"Hey, Sam?" She asked over her shoulder, "Do you know any healing magic? I'm going to try to help them but I'm not too good with healing yet."
Seamus turned and watched Fiona go. He knew zero healing spells, so he would just stay out of the way. Fi only knew a couple of spells, wind-based healing spells that their mother taught her before she died. The dragon-looking fellow let out a scream - one that was more of a roar - of pain that made Seamus wince in sympathy. He saw Fiona jump at the same time, and could only guess at her reaction.
Fiona jumped, and winced, at the sound, and was nearing tears by the end of it. Why was he in so much pain? What had happened to make him feel like that?
"Is there anything I can do to help?" she asked as she approached the trio, coming up near the youngest looking of the three ((Nick)).

Fiona frowned at the boy's words, then gasped as she was pushed away. Seamus caught her just before she would have slammed into him. Fiona growled as she stood up with her brother's help. Seeing a blast of fire headed their way, she reacted instinctively and formed a wall of fire between the three newcomers and her group. "Seamus. Some help, please," she whispered as the wall began to move towards them. The fire wouldn't hurt her or Seamus, but she doubted Samantha would have come out unscathed. Or at all.
Seamus laid his hands on Fiona's bare arms, lending her his strength. They stabilized the wall of fire. Seconds later, they heard a large form hitting the ground. As the wall started to move away from her, Fiona let the spell drop.
"What the bloody fucking hell was that?" she demanded, her anger bringing out her Irish brogue. As she spoke, she stalked towards the new group, her fists clenched at her sides. She didn't realize it, but her hands were once again covered in red-orange flames.
If the large dragonish guy wasn't out cold on the ground, she would have kicked him. Hard. Lucky for him, he was unconscious. She was tempted to kick him anyway. She'd taken years of martial arts lessons, so she knew how to hurt a larger opponent without hurting herself. Only her sense of honor prevented her from kicking the rude asshat.
She stopped less than a foot from the unconscious dragon man. She glared down at him for a split second before returning her focus to his two companions.

((He thinks Fi's the weakest of the herd? Hahaha, boy would he be in for a surprise. o.O She might be fairly small, but she's far from weak. Of course, her main strength is her fire magic, which probably wouldn't do much [or possibly anything] to a part dragon, part demon being.))
Fiona glanced down when she saw movement out of the corner of her eyes. He's awake? How the bloody fuck is he still awake? Damn. "Let Death revive him?" she whispered, eyes widening. "So, what, death is scared of him? Gees." She shook her head. "Good luck tiring him out." She turned and went back to her brother and roommate.
"Let's just go inside. I don't think I even want to know what the hell they're talking about.
"Besides, I'm hungry."
Seamus shook his head. He had to agree with Fiona and not wanting to know, though part of him was extremely curious. Maybe he'd get a chance to find out later.
*~*~*~*~*~*
Chantily hurried out of the student center, almost running into a group of three people headed inside. "Sorry," she muttered as she kept going. She stopped not far past them to take in the scene before her. Why are Adrian and Nick wrestling like that? And what's wrong with Adrian? Those screams were scary. And his eyes look weird now.
After a brief pause, she walked up to Trick. "What's going on?" she asked, worry evident in her voice.

Xander stared down at them from his perch high above him, grinning in amusement as he watched those below him fight. perhaps things won't be as boring as i thought. he thought as Haemities and Marcus finally showed up. then he frowned as Trick reappeared with a familiar incubus with him. so you still live Van Helsing. he thought to himself as he made himself comfy, he only wished he had some good popcorn to eat while he watched.
Chantily blanched. Half his soul? How does that even happen? How is that even possible? Guess it doesn't matter; it happened. "Okay, I'll..." she started to say, then stopped as he disappeared. She shrugged and walked back to the group just entering the student center.
"I think you guys have the right idea. It's safer in here," she said as she went back through the door, holding it open for the others. "Mind if I hang out with you guys for a bit? Name's Chantily by the way."
*~*~*~*~*~*
"Nah, I don't mind," Fiona said, smiling at the girl.
"Me neither," Seamus said. It didn't hurt that she was cute. And seemed a bit more easygoing than Samantha. Speaking of who, he hoped she didn't mind. But he had a feeling it wouldn't stop Chantily even if she did.

Alex saw what Trick was doing and rushed Adrian, hoping to ditract the hybrid. the two slammed into each other and the fight was on. with Alex's ability he was now much stronger and could handle Adrian, but only just. come on Trick hurry! he thought to himself as he kicked Adrian with his powerful goat legs. he vaguely noticed Marcus and the Gargoyle nearby but quickly focused back on the fight.
Xander grinned as he watched the two fight. oh this is so much fun, but i'll have to stop them soon. he thought regretfully to himself.

((It's fine.))
Chantily almost laughed at the blond girl's words. Then she realized she was serious. "Um, yeah. That's not going to work. Dragon boy's gone psycho. Trick said he's missing half his soul. Not sure how that's even possible, but it apparently makes him go psycho sometimes.
"We should just get out of the way."
*~*~*~*~*~*
"I agree," Fiona said. "Let's go inside. He already tried to fry us once; I'd rather not give him another chance. The fire wouldn't have hurt me or Seamus, but I don't think you're immune, Sam."
Seamus nodded his agreement with the two girls.

Trick whipped out Bertha just as Adrian got in range. the bong was much louder that he thought it would be, as was the resulting hiss of anger and surprise from his friend. he didn't stop with that first hit though and began beating Adrian in the head with the large magic frying pan he called Big Bertha. never underestimate the power of ingenuity and insanity! he thought to himself as he continued to whack Adrian in the head with Big Bertha.
Marcus stared in complete surprise as he watched Trick beat Adrian in the head with what looked like a large frying pan. well don't see that everyday. he thought as he prepared a spell that might actually stop Adrian in his tracks.
once Nick got anything to stop spinning he followed his soul vision, as well as his instincts, to the female what was her name? oh yeah Fiona. he had dimly heard it and approached cautiously, mostly because everything seemed to wobble still, and asked "why do you shine so?" he knew it was a odd question, but her bright and shining soul looked familiar to him and he wanted to know why, out of curiousity as well as a deep feeling that it could tell why Adrian had attacked her.

"Oh, so is water magic your specialty? That's probably a good thing. I tend to cause fires when I get angry," Fiona said with a shrug.
She turned as one of the dragon-looking guys came towards them. He looks drunk. Must have taken quite a hit. From his... brother, maybe, given the way they look.
"I shine? What are you talking about?" She looked questioningly at the others standing nearby.
Seamus just shrugged, looking as confused as Fi felt.
Chantily turned back towards the group from watching Trick beat up on psycho-Adrian with a frying pan. A frying pan? Well, whatever works I guess. She glanced over Fiona once, then tilted her head and squinted. "Oh. She does shine a bit, doesn't she? I can't normally see auras."
Fiona's face took on a 'you guys must be crazy' look as she turned away. She shook her head and walked up to the door of the student center. Crazies. She shivered lightly. I wonder where Jasper is, and what he would think of all that... she thought to herself as she opened the door and walked through it. Seamus gave an apologetic smile to the boy before turning and following his sister inside.

Alex bellowed and blowed into Adrian, only to be sent flying as Adrian grabbed his horns and threw him into the same wall again. i am getting real tired of being thrown around. he thought to himself. he felt for sure they were about to lose when Trick suddenly exploded. where his friend had been now stood the hulking form of the Hound. the canine snarled and leapt onto Adrian, in no time the two became a whirling mass of fur, scale-feathers, claws, and teeth. their struggle took them around the corner of the building, out of Alex's sight, where he heard and loud crack then all sound stopped. after a moment the Hound walked back and gave him a questioning look, like it was asking why-are-you-in-a-wall-still? kind of look. he glared at the Hound before extracting himself from the wall. he rolled his neck to get a kink out of it and sighed, "not even here a day and already we caused some damage." the Hound just shrugged its shoulders.
Marcus frowned a bit. why hadn't the spell worked? he asked himself before the answer came to him. Xander he thought, making the name sound like a curse.
((Okay, so Chantily's staying here after all. DW, please check this thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... I have a question for you there. Thanks.))
After about half a second, Chantily looked back towards Trick. Why am I so worried about him? I don't even like him. Do I? Hell. I'm still not sure I like him as a person, but that kiss... Wow. That kiss was, I don't know, amazing. Intense. And lit me up like a friggin' Christmas tree. She shook her head a little then focused on the battle. She winced when she heard Trick hit the wall. She had to fight to not go to him; she didn't want to get in the middle of that mess. But if Trick were hurt, she knew she would. She would protect him. Her tiger growled with pleasure in her head; it liked having a mate who was a good fighter. For that was what her tiger thought of him as: her mate.
"Damn," she whispered as she saw him transform. PUPPY!! Then, BIG damn puppy. She worried more as she watched the Hound and Adrian fight, then they were out of her sight. She wanted to scream in frustration. She couldn't help him if she couldn't see him!
The sudden silence made her shudder. "Oh, God, I hope he's alright," she murmured as she started to walk, then run, towards the corner they'd disappeared around. She breathed a sigh of relief, coming to a brief stop when Trick walked out. She ran to him then, not stopping until she reached his side. She wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her face in the fur there. "Don't you ever worry me like that again," she whispered into the fur of his neck. She didn't care that everyone could see her, that she had just almost fought with him in Reception, she just cared that he was safe.
Somewhere in the back of her mind, she wondered where Adrian was, but most of her focused only on Trick.

Alex watched the Hound, who was eating up the girl's affection eagerly enough. then he thought of another girl who he wouldn't mind getting some affection from. he felt a low purr in his throat and decided right after he got the dust and blood off of him he'd go to her. he went to Trick's backpack, still where he had left it, and pulled out one of Alex's spare wands. he muttered, "aquas" and a stream of water shot out of the wand. he quickly washed the grim off then turned toward the Hound and repeated the spell. the Hound let out a yelp, the water was cold after all, and placed its body between the cold stream and Chantily. Alex made sure to keep any amusement from his eyes, it was only an idiot that laughed at the Hound, though he was hard-pressed since the Hound look like a drowned rat. a massively built 6ft tall drowned rat he thought to himself. he muttered, "ventus" and dried himself, the Hound, and Chantily off as well as giving his fine pelt a nice natural shine. however it made the Hound's fur suddenly fluff out with a muffled wooph sound. Alex quickly smothered his amusement, then didn't have to as Adrian smoothly walked toward them. by th Powers he looks bad. Alex thought to himself, and he wasn't wrong either. Adrian was covered in the front with dark blood that had hints of gold in it, starting from his neck and all the way down. on top of that he had a somewhat haunted look in his eyes.
the Hound nearly growled at the incubus-that-wasn't-prey-but-was-friend but with the nice smelling large-cat-that-is-not-cat wrapped around his neck he decided to ignore it as well as the dragon-mixed-blood-that-smell-like-death. he rumbled a bit, a purr like sound, and gently rubbed his massive against the female.
((okay to explain the last bit. the Hound is not Trick, so i rped like it wasn't, plus it thinks oddly and its mind strings words together to describe a being. if a mind reader heard him it would appear that the strung together words, while distinct, also were one thing. did i explain that well?))
((That makes sense. Mostly. Enough sense anyway.
Chantily thinks the Hound is him at least... I fixed the last post so she doesn't kneel down.))
Chantilly didn't notice when the strange-looking, demon-scented male walked away from where she stood with Trick. She didn't know anything was going on until she felt the cold water hit her side. She gasped and jumped, losing her grip on the massive neck. "Thanks," she whispered as he moved in front of her. She gasped again as she was suddenly dry once more. Damn. I've been doing water magic my whole life and I can't do that reliably!
Her eyes widened as Trick's Hound nearly doubled in size as his fur fluffed out. She buried her face in the fur of his neck to stop the giggles that wanted to erupt from her. She wrapped her arms around his neck once more. "I'm so glad you're safe," she muttered.
She smelled what had to be Adrian walking by behind her, but didn't turn around. From the smell, she knew she didn't want to see how bad he looked.
Then Trick's Hound form rubbed its head against her and everything else was forgotten. She giggled with delight. I could get used to this. He's even bigger than my tiger. A lot bigger. Said tiger practically purred in her head, liking that fact quite a bit more than expected.

the Hound could feel the large-cat-beneath-the-two-leg stir in response to it. the Hound liked it, a lot in fact, and rumbled its pleasure in a deeper but louder tone.
((Um, uh oh. Her? Fiona? Explain please. Either here or in the character chat thread - linked in my post before last. Thank you.
Also, oh hell. I think the Hound may bring out Lily's tiger. That could be bad.))

Adrian looked at the Hound and made a slight motion with his head, asking if the Hound would like to follow. the Hound looked at him for a moment before simply flicking an ear at him. Adrian took that to mean no, as well as the way the Hound was acting around Chantily, and headed toward where he vaguely remembered the female he had attacked had went. he mentally sighed, i wonder what they'll do? he quickly decided not to think about as he began to shift to his human form and entering where they had gone.
the Hound rumbled and playfully shoved against Chantily, lightly though. he had energy to burn and he felt like having some fun.
((Sure. Why not. ^_^ ))
Chantily stumbled as she was shoved by the large animal. "Oh, so you want to play now, huh? Give me a minute, alright?" She walked over to a nearby tree to undress, not wanting to embarrass anyone this time. A couple of seconds later, a large white tiger came out from behind the same tree.
It stalked towards the hound, then rubbed along its side. It chuffed in the happy sound of a large cat. Large cats can't purr, they make a chuffing sound instead. ((Completely true; I've held a tiger cub before!))
The musky scent of a female tiger in heat slowly began to fill the open courtyard...
((And that's why I said it could be bad. *nods* That's also why the tiger responded so forcefully to the Hound, despite - or possibly because of - the difference in species.))

((i'll explain the nature thing in Trick's profile when i have time.))
Chantily - as the tiger - stumbled slightly as the Hound shoved her. She chuffed happily again; a strong mate was a good mate. She took off after him, taking two or three paces to his one due to the difference in their sizes. The scent of small animals reached the tiger's nose. Ah, a hunt. Good. She preferred somewhat larger prey, but if none could be found, small animals would suffice. Deer would be nice if one could be found. Catching one wouldn't be a problem, she knew. She could catch one herself, quite easily in fact.

((bet anyone can see where this will go! also the feline is one of my not main charries))
((Good thing he's just a minor character. He's annoying a tiger at the moment... ^_^ ))
Chantily stopped when Trick did. It took her a moment to find what had annoyed him. She was confused by the sight of a tiny kitten - why should that annoy something as strong as her mate? She mentally rolled her eyes when he stepped in between her and the kitten. Her paws flexed to keep a hold on the rumbling bricks beneath her feet, though she had to smile at the knowledge that it was her mate making the bricks move. She sniffed at an odd change in the air, then she saw the reason for it - the kitten was now a huge panther! She growled low in her throat. How dare he threaten her mate! And try to attract her with his scent. She growled louder.

the Hound enjoyed the female's response, but it joy went flying as soon as the feline took a arrogant step towards them. the Hound launched itself at the feline and the two collided with a muffled boom. it quickly became apparent though that the Hound wasn't good at fighting the instant the feline snapped its neck. with a burst of intense heat that steamed the water in the air around the Hound's now unnaturally angled neck fixed itself. it snarled and launched itself back at the feline. five more time the feline struck the Hound, killing blows to anything else, and five times it got back up. the feline made a mistake when the Hound rushed it a seventh time, it slipped in the blood drenched grass. the Hound instantly plowed into it and pinned it to the ground. it went for the throat only to stop as it heard a voice say, "now now, let Felix go or your little kitty friend will pay." the Hound got off the feline and saw the nasty smelling being that two-legs called Xander. it snarled dangerously, but worried as well, at Xander's finger that pointed toward Chantily. the Hound slowly creeped forward, waiting for Xander to drop his gaurd. "now be a good little puppy and change ba-" the Hound cut him off with a snarling, leaping over Chantily, aiming for his throat. suddenly pain filled the Hound and it fell to the ground, howling in agony as Xander became to take away it magic.
Trick panted as the pain left him. damnit i didn't see that coming. he thought to himself and stood up. he dimly realized that his normal casual outfit was gone, the items he wore having returned to their true forms. Trick glared at Xander and said, "do that again Xander and i'll put a bullet right between your eyes. Xander snorted, though not very loudly. Trick found himself looking at Chantily's tiger form and raised his eyebrows, impressed despite himself.
Xander had to keep himself from shaking his head. that kid has spunk, and lots of it. he thought to himself, amused. he was impressed by the gear Trick had though. though he wasn't tall, the shadowy cloak that had replaced his hoodie gave him a menacing look, his shoes had been replaced be Greek or Roman style sandals that had a pair of black feathered wings on them. it seemed that his change had gotten rid of all his nonmagical clothing, as Xander knew happened sometimes, but he found himself blinking in shock at what he did see. "since when do you wear pink boxers with yellow rubber ducks?" Trick promptly responded with, "i don't. i'm wearing bright princess pink boxers that have cute lemon yellow rubber duckies on them. much more manly." he said gravely, humor sparking in his eyes.
((bet no one saw that coming!))
Chantily watched concernedly as the Hound fought the large pantherish feline. He seemed unkillable. She liked that, rather a lot, to be honest.
She shuddered as she felt a presence, then she smelled it and growled. It had the audacity to threaten her! Before she could do anything to it, the Hound had flown at it! Then the Hound was howling in pain and she howled - as best she could - in sympathy. Then the Hound was gone and the boy laid there. She started towards him just as he stood up, so she stopped. She grinned a tiger grin when he looked at her. She went to him and butted her head against him, the rubbed her length along one leg as he spoke to the... whatever it was that stunk and felt... wrong.
The tiger chuffed repeatedly at Trick's words, the equivalent of a laugh. It butted him with its head once more before running back to the tree where Chantily's clothes were. She let go of the change and quickly redressed, coming back out from behind the tree giggling. "Nice boxers," she said, grinning. She grabbed one of his hands and stood by his side, looking at the being in front of them. She didn't know what to think of it, but she knew she didn't like it. It - he? - had hurt Trick, so she was mad about that. Madder than she probably should be given that they'd just met. And she still wasn't entirely sure she liked him as a person. Her tiger was in love, or maybe lust, but she didn't know what to think.
