Hi Heather! Good luck in your new home!! This group is really international. I'm in Rome and there are lots of other members spread all over the world.
It's a great way to keep up with new books and (re)discover old ones too!

I absolutely don't understand alot of what you talk about (ie;'points') but I'm willing to learn.
I just finished 'The Strain' by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan and 'Dark Places' by Gillian Flynn.
Both of these were excellent in their own right. Took a few days to digest.
I read the 'Twilight' series before I gave them to my 11 year old daughter to read.
I suprised myself by liking them, and was stunned to find the hopeless romantic of my younger days still alive... bittersweet.
What do I do next in the club?
Hi Suzanne and Heather, welcome to the group.
There is no "do next" really, just jump in on the threads that interest you most, hang out and get to know us, and let us get to know you too!!!

Is there a chosen book each month to read? Or books?

Glad to have you both in the group. Heather good luck in your move.
Suzanne there is two books for the group read each month. Lori puts up a post towards the end of the month so we can nominate books we would like to read. Then we get to vote on which ones we might want to read. Then at the starting of the month we can read and discuss the books.

This will be a welcome challenge!

I am a South African living in Dubai. Hiya..

I'm also new and slightly embarrassed/nervous. I've never participated in group discussions, but this seemed too good to pass up.

Welcome to the group!! Don't be nervous everyone here is really nice. Just jump right in and pretty soon this will feel like home. :~)

Welcome Heather...I too just found this group a few days ago, though I have been amember of GR for almost 2 yrs now. It is nice to have a place to catalogue your reads, and want-to-reads and to network with people who share a similar interest. I have found this group wonderful in that while it might offer suggestions of various books to read, you are not committed to, nor out of the loop if you decline to read a particular book at a specific time and on someone else's time frame. The great thing about this book club is that you can take it to Germany with you!
Hey everyone.... nice to have you all here...
Goodreads is getting some press in Oprah, really? Thats a good thing :)
