Penny (penne) | 748 comments If you were animalled, what do you think your animal might be?

I've always had a strong affinity for felines so I'd expect I'd end up with a cat of some kind. Perhaps a lynx. Although a domestic cat would be good too.

Penelope Flynn | 32 comments I'd love to think lioness, but probably... {sigh}magpie.

Dale Brooks | 16 comments I'd be a seagull, and I'd hang out with Jonathan Livingston Seagull... :)

message 4: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina Flynn What's 'animalled'? Do you end up as an animal or with one?

You should read this month's book, Zoo City, and find out.

That's hilarious Penelope - made me giggle :)

That's a lovely idea, but alas not how it works I think :P

I'd echo the answer Kim gave mostly because I think it's a great read! A vast over simplification of the idea is that you get an animal companion when "animalled". You don't choose your animal or whether or not you want to be animalled, but I felt that there was a clever echo or balance in each animalled personality and their animal so I thought it would be a fun question.

Sabrina Flynn Oh wow, lol, how'd I miss this book. What an odd but original sounding plot. I'll check it out.

Paweł (detector) | 5 comments I'm already animalled

;)

Yeah, book was nice but story was a bit fuzzy and not strictly related to this "animalism" idea; same as all that African voodoo-magic stuff. And it's a shame that these two things were not exploited more because they were most interesting ones, for me.

message 9: by R. (new)

R. Leib | 87 comments I've always had an affinity for dragons. So I guess I'd be crawling around an island sporting an infectious bite and terrible table manners.

message 10: by Dale (new)

Dale Brooks | 16 comments Sorry, haven't read the book...just thought it was simple question... :) will check out the book!

message 11: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn (seeford) | 203 comments I really enjoyed this aspect of the plot.
Hmmm.... I'd love to think mine would be a capuchin monkey or something cute/ furry like that, but it seemed like many of the animals were strange and inconveniently non-cuddly, so it would probably be a ostrich or a Gila monster or something.

message 12: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 3915 comments I would love to have a wolf or cougar, and a wolf would be a definite possibility, but I think I would want a ring tailed lemur. I don't know why!

message 13: by Matthew (new)

Matthew Pilkington | 47 comments I think a bear of some kind would best reflect my nature, either Grizzly or Polar. I have always like the talking bears from the Golden Compass series.

message 14: by B.H. (new)

B.H. Alsop I suspect I would have a house cat, since I'm surrounded by them, but I'd like a dragon or a tiger.
