I just finished reading lock and key and honestly this book was so boring. So at the end ruby finds out that her bf was haveing issues at home with his dad he was verbally abusive and so ruby decided to leave her bf and then she decided to go to college and change her life

Why did Loyd speak British in the Kubrick's film OF " The Shining" ? I just couldn't get past it. The book never mentioned that Loyd spoke British did it?
