Am I the only one that's completely mesmerized by the book's format? Not only do I love the cover but I love how some of the text is red like all the other books.

8% (view spoiler)[ Okay, I don't remember what's going on but I like how we got dropped right into the center of the story. That's what I've always liked about Marie Lu's writing style. She's always direct and focused on the plot but she manages to weave in refreshers of what happened in her past books. I feel bad for Day but it's kind of his fault. He could have told June the truth. After everything they've been through, he didn't trust June to at least tell her the truth. I get that he believes what he's doing is right but June had the right to know. (hide spoiler)]

I find it annoying when they are like "Oh I just want to kiss him/her." It grinds my gears. Then, June is in the middle of the trail for the people who killed her brother and she is thinking about kissing Day in the middle of that? I don't know I feel like she would have other things on her mind. Or maybe I would. Like... I don't know wondering if people were going to say the killer was guilty or not.

Yeah sometimes these books wonder out of plot. But I guess I remember the books more than I thought I would. I get what you're saying because then it's harder to feel empathy during the part where Day was at the hospital and Thomas was talking about Metias

I'm really scared about Day. Part of me wants him to die in the end. His whole being sick is the whole reason June became a Princeps-elect and why they keep separating. A lot of the 3rd book's elements and emotions are based on Day's illness. If he doesn't end up dying in the end, itll feel like all of that is thrown out the window. But I love Day and he's sacrificed so much for the Republic and for their people. It doesn't seem right for him to die after all that. (hide spoiler)]

Wait. WHAT?! Omg that ending!

So Day didn't die but he doesn't remember June! He doesn't remember anything about the most important adventures of his life! So he forgot all that?! What?!?

I don't know what to think or how to feel about this ending because in a way it satisfied both of how I felt on Day dying or not.

So he didn't die and now he's a hero which I'm really happy about because he deserves it. But then he lost all his memories of June and other memories. So it kinda satisfied of how I wanted him to die. Day didn't just get cured and everything was a happy ending. He didn't die but there was a major consequence for it. Even in the end, he doesn't completely know who June is. He just remembers fragments of her.

I'm not sure what I think of this ending yet. Still processing. But I think I like it just because I've never read an ending like it or it's rare to have an ending like this. It's not completely tragic but it's not a happy ending. It's more bittersweet. (hide spoiler)]

But, I am thrilled that it wasn't this super happy ending where everything was fixed and happy and all of that. Day did get the hero status. June moved on to something she enjoyed more as did everyone else. It was super lovely. I thought it was a good conclusion to the trilogy. (hide spoiler)]

June discovering Day's illness is rough. I've never felt the chemistry between them, but I know she cares for him and know how hard it is to learn someone you care about is dying so I totally feel for her.

I liked the scene with June and Thomas. As much as I don't like him for what he did, the scenes with them two together have always packed an emotional punch. (hide spoiler)]
